Megson On Ssn

Featured Replies

Gets paid off - money due paid there and then.

Drip fed every week - Megson gets a new job, Bolton stop paying him or only pay the difference between his new wage and what he was on at Bolton.

Hats off to Gartside again on this one.

Didn't think you could do that

My understanding, when last week discussing Coyle's position at Burnley, was that you couldn't have 2 managers, 1 on gardening leave and 1 a permanent manager?

I very much doubt most of this happend.

Strange comment ...................please explain

I think we'll prove on Sunday that, given a manager who is popular with the supporters, the fans can make a difference.

It'll also prove, however, that irrespective of your views on Megson, booing really did the team no favours.

Yes it did. It got rid of that miserable ginger wanker

hopefully a load of pissheads will turn up and create a good atmosphere.

Yes but besides roads, sewers, central heating; what else did the Romans do for us?

in usual business you cant, unless you rename the role.

football has its own rules anyway.

There's no place in modern football for those types.

In some way yes Homer.

Megson has been sacked with, what seems like, a year of his contract left or more realistically he's on a rolling contract with a one year notice period.

Rather than paying what he is owed in a lump sum, we are paying him weekly.

Not the normal thing to do but one thing for sure, he is not on what you and I think is "gardening leave".

Good atmosphere or not, shit manager or not, Megson wasnt on the field and so for bad results some blame needs to be directed at the players, Megson was too many times a scapegoat for bad individual performances, if they dont pick up their performances whatever Coyle does we will still struggle.

Bottom line there is it depends on the detail in the contract.

We're doing it, and he doesn't sound too happy about it. This would suggest that it is in the contract, and that he was happy with it at the time of signing, or badly advised.

Either way, tough shit.

he's getting paid each week/month so that if/when he gets another job, we'll be able to reduce our payments to him

This is generally the case with every manager who is sacked and explains why they, eg Mark Hughes, are in no rush applying for the next job that becomes vacant.

I think you failed to spell 'doombwfc' correctly. FFS - it's all optimism at the moment after the turgid times under Megson. Don't p1ss on the chips eh?

Maybe the tone came across wrong im as happy with things at the moment as anyone but players were getting less flack than they probaly should have been getting as most was being directed at Megson, hopefully a change will get the best out of some of the underperfomers.

Sorry Homo, you have your facts wrong there

if you sign up to a section 203 compromise agreement, the two parties can do whatever they want

im sure in the long run whatever megson has signed up to will give him more cash than bolton offered as an up front full n final settlement

if indeed they offered one

Sorry Homo, you have your facts wrong there

go on. :pardon:

The term can also be used when an employee is sent home whilst subject to disciplinary proceedings, when they are between projects, or where, as a result of publicity, their presence at work is considered counter-productive. The Tracey Temple affair is an instance of the latter case.

There's no reason why you can't employ someone to fill their role in the meantime.
