i know this topic has been discussed before,especially with the clubs ill fated attempt to create the so called singing stand etc ,which showed the usual levels of neivety that the club usually espires to..by thinking to shave a few quid of ticket prices and send a few flyers showing lofty the lion and few fans singing is going to entice the whole of the east stand lower to go and sit in the north stand.

i look at most of the premiership and i think there is only us..and possibly wigan that dont have a proper 'end'.the adavntage of kicking to and end mainly in the second half cannot be underestimated,anyone thats heard the gladys street end,the holte end,the kops at portsmouth,stoke,burnley and the likes will know what im talking about.even poxy fulham have one... and even blackburn have the town end,aside from negative tactics,the vocal support from the town end at ewood was without a doubt was a factor with them comming back from 2-0 down last season.

aside from other grounds,i know the mood at the reebok hasnt exactly been elcetric for the past couple of seasons,but the logistics of things dont help.is anyone else sick of being sat next to a sold out south stand full of away fans,easily out-singing home support? so many times this season the home support has been drowned out by the away end,even with the atmosphere as good as it was against arsenal,watching the replay,you could easily hear arsenal throughout. its so easliy done,the bulk of our vocal support is stuffed in a cornder of the east stand,trying its hardest to compete with an 'end' full off away fans.they have have the advantage,we play to an end with mainly families,20 flags and a drum,they play to full end of vocal support,we are fighting a loosing battle.theres going to be 5000 burnley fans there tomorrow for god sake..whos going to be heard more?

so with the club in a transitional period,with the club trying to get fans back on side and trying to get the atmosphere back,along with with letters off the manager and questionaires,its apparent the club knows theres issues with support and aside from on the pitch matters want to know what can make a change.

what im asking for is any ideas people on here might have to create an end?..the club need to know that wether they like it or not,the bulk of boltons vocal support will always be attracted as close to the away fans as possible..as was the case at burnden,wether the club will want to recognise this i dont know,but you cant disguise it any other way.

so why not move the away fans?..stuff them in a corner,like we are at everton or old trafford? make the north stand a proper family stand as it used to be and make the south stand new bolton end,cheper tikcets to entice fans to move,and put away fans in a bit of south and a bit of west?

like i say, i know this kind of thing has been attempted before,but it wasnt done properly,and therefore didnt work.but now is the time to change if any.

im just asking for ideas..and more so is anyone actually prepared to move?..what if you didnt have a choice? i just feel as though we are missing out on what most clubs have and our vocal support is wasted.

If you want to stand and sing go to the ESL as close to the scoreboard as possible. as has been the case for the 11 years we've been at the reebok

 

the club can help this by pricing tickets the same around the ground

The ESL under the scoreboard has always been the singing area since the Reebok opened, if by now similar minded fans haven't

migrated to that part of the ground, I really don't know what more the club can do.

I don?t think the Reebok was built to have an ?End? Cant see many fans wanting to sit in the North upper.

Many off the other grounds mentioned have areas that hold 4000+ that are ideal for ?ends?.

Sitting in a north upper type end is ok for a one off, but you wouldn?t sit there every week.

Tickets are cheaper in the Northstand as the view is not as good..This leads to two problems,

1, Fans who want to sing want a better view of the match

2, Fans who want cheaper tickets are too far away from the singing fans hence the North stand being pretty quiet

The very nature of the Reebok means the segregation required between concourses if the away fans were moved into the West/East stands would cost a fortune to construct. so just on cost and practicallity moving the away fans is a no go.

 

If we were to have an end it would have to be the North stand. In order to get those who don't wish to be sat amongst the yoof to move the club would have to offer the same price tickets in the West/east as they do in the NSL.

The only way you could recreate the atmosphere of the embankment or burden paddock is to make the north lower terraced. And that isn't going to happen.

Won't need an "end" tomorrow neet,the whole stadium will be buzzin'

Easy solution,(for next season) move away fans in to West lower then make the South Stand 'The Not Rights Stand' Problem solved.

I hope the Reebok is rocking tomorrow.

I expect even the East and West Upper to be getting behind the team for this one.

Hopefully the North Stand can make a claim to having "an end" tomorrow by being loud and proud - stand up and support your team.

I can't think of many clubs that have an "end" anymore.. Most of the grounds you go to the vocal support are by the away fans if they even exist at all.. Agreed, I go in the North lower and get behind the Whites but the folks sat on the row behind can't be enticed out of their seats and while undoubtedly all are loyal supporters never make any encouraging noise towards the team but have an under the breath moan if me or anybody else stands up to often in moments of excitement (I'm hopeful there may be relatively more of those in the future than there have been over the last couple of years). I don't know what the club can do to get people sorted into the best areas of the ground to suit their style of support for the team but something needs to be done.

To be fair to the club they've clearly made some positive decision regarding stewarding of the ESL; we're at the edge of the bit which normally had people standing the most - for most of the seasons we had stewards up every 5 mins (literally) giving people grief about standing. There were people chucked out for standing right at the back and thus blocking no one apart from a small fraction of adverts, or my favourite was when one came up and told us to "sit down properly" like we were back in Junior School or summat. Daft twat. That doesn't happen now - I'm not sure anyone has been up to do that so far this season, and that must be a conscious decision on the part of the club. BUT it's a bit late as many owder faces have fucked it off.

Plus I'm not sure how well the acoustics work in the stands themselves - plenty of times its been apparent that the North stand is rocking, but we hear very little of it in the ESL. Likewise, I've heard honest appraisals from away fans who've said we were quiet when in fact the ESL etc was jumping. Trouble is, its hard to know how it comes across where it matters - ie on the pitch ??

ill watch match choice or something and itll be the only time i hear the ESL

Its about two blocks of seating, don't know numbers though.

Pretty sure it won't compare to most away followings, or the whole of the NSL if the yoof moved there for a sing-song.

The north stand will never be an "end". There's too many misery's who dont want to sing but wont move seats to a different stand. Which is fair enough, they we're there first. I dont mind the esl under the big screen, at least there's a bit of atmosphere. It would probably be easier if those who want to get a sing song got tickets as close to the esl corner as possible. The more people there singing the better the atmosphere.
