Moderators Casino Posted January 30, 2010 Moderators Share Posted January 30, 2010 its like playing with 10men when muamba is marking gerrard.. he doesnt get involved with our attacking play when we didn't do it, it was like playing against 12 sacrificing one of ours to negate their best player makes sense can somebody tell me what we have seen so far that shows coyle to be better than megson for me, today was the same old, same old i like coyle, hes said some good stuff and hes probably got us some good players in, but bar the improvement in elmander, tell me what you've seen best thing from today - lee worst thing - davies was useless ie, without a use
frank_spencer
are we about to pass our way back to the championship with fighting displays full of courage and attacking flair and no points? FFS away at anfield and we held our own IMO we'll pick up plenty of points off those in the bottom half, nowt to worry about

surrey_white
Wigan lost Blackburn/West Ham draw Hull/Wolves draw Plus points. As we knew before the match the game on saturday against Fulham is massive. Hopefully Chelsea will put a few past Burnley.

Moderators Casino Posted January 30, 2010 Moderators Share Posted January 30, 2010 id be surprised if it didn't touch steinnson in fact, on another day, neither of their goals would have gone in but they missed half a dozen others

We were unlucky in both games against Arsenal, if Taylor could finish we would have got something in the 1st game, and if the ref wasn't a cheating bastard then we would have got something in the 2nd. Against Burnley we got the most important thing which was 3 points, and looked solid at the back. And against the scouse scum today I only saw the 1st half which could have been different if Lee's effort didn't get cleared off the line, and again we looked more solid defensively against a team that although have some problems have still only lost 2 of their last 50 or so home games. It's clear to see that we are more confident (you only have to look at the improvemnt of Zat Night) He has brought in some very exciting young attacking players We are defensively better We have Klasnic to come back from injury And we all knew that he couldn't change the team overnight. I don't know whether you were expecting miracles, or your just moaning for moanings sake, but ffs give him a chance.

We didn't get one decision from him at Fulham, but lots of undeserved bookings (6). Not there, but it looks like zilch to-day as well.

Eddie
im asking what you've seen on the pitch that wouldn't have happened under megson you've typed plenty but i'm still waiting to hear Like I said it's going to take time. I've seen better defensive displays for a start, and a clean sheet which is more than we saw under Megson. I'm guessing that the new signings have been brought in to change the attacking style, but seen as they have been here for a matter of days then I'm not surprised that they wern't starting. Were you expecting us to get anything from the 2 games against Arsenal, or todays game? Were you expecting us to suddenly play like Brazil? I wasn't, I was expecting a maximum of 4 points from the 4 games, of which 3 is not bad, I was expecting the defence to be sured up, which it undoubtedly has. And for the rest of the season I'm expecting us to play much the same way, with more pace and passing involved due to the new players brought in. Then next season after a full summer transfer window better football and a comfortable season.

Eddie
They were 5 league games unbeaten. Ignore the media hype produced to wind up the murderers and they're a very good side Exactly, and I can't remember the exact number of games, but they have lost 2 in around 50 home league games. It is hardly a match that we should be expacting to pick points up from. As long as we keep picking up the points against the likes of Burnley then that is more important. athywhite
chungy was not in the second half. muamba marking gerrard kept him quite but give us nothing attacking the midfield was missing today knight MOTM for bolton i think. i really dont get this knight outstanding etc, for me he has had one decent game against burnley who hardly posed any threat, apart from that his awareness positioning concentration tackling are poor at best

Wouldnt mind if it was a skillfull player but Kuyt!
Site Supporter victor meldrew Posted January 30, 2010 Site Supporter Share Posted January 30, 2010 today we were toss... if megson had been in charge, this thread would have been all about sacking him, cos he was clueless. well we have not changed the players who were clueless. coehen and lee should have scored, after that we might as well have packed up and gone home. steinson , rickets, muamba, taylor ,k davis were stealing a living this afternoon. liverpool must have thought it was a practce match as we didn't make any effective tackles and let them completely boss the second half, we were lucky to lose 2-0. Guest bwfcdan
Just got back, as usual it was a shit away day, shit ground, shit atmosphere, shit game... to be honest i thought we were decent in the first half, but the second half was all them. Muamba handled Gerrard well, Ricketts had one his better games for us, and LCY played well. Once again Taylor and Cohen played poor.. Aaah well roll on Fulham...
