February 10, 201016 yr Or doleys in general. What do you eat? Skint this week, so need to visit asda, with ?7 for a weeks worth of shopping! Supernooodles are good but boring. Instant Mash? Stuff out of date seems to be the best stuff. Can be a gamble though! What about you? Don't tell me everyone one on here is living a life of luxury?

Stuff out of date seems to be the best stuff. Can be a gamble though! What about you? Don't tell me everyone one on here is living a life of luxury? Supernoodles are shit, it's food for scutters. They contain nothing at all useful so your body will just crave the essentials and you'll be hungry again within no time. You can try the 8 pence ones as a snack but that's it. Here's my plan, firstly fuck off Asda and get down Aldi, Netto and/or the market. Porridge - great for you and cheap, slow energy release. Make it with water if times is hard. A big bag will last all week and more. Potatoes - again - cheap and slow energy release. Bollocks to instant mash, make your own with bit of cheese maybe. Pasta (preferably wholemeal) with cheap tinned tomatoes and a bit of herb - lived off this at uni. Edited February 10, 201016 yr by Carlos
February 10, 201016 yr There hundreds of stuff you can do with potato's make your own crisp! Jacket Spud, Oven Chips, Mash Rosti's (ok,you need an onion with that) but like Carlos said and all very simple to do!
February 10, 201016 yr Author Cheers lads. Got a bag of potatoes actually! Savory rice is what I'm into at the moment..
February 10, 201016 yr also do not go to asda get to netto or similar for things like potatos they are fine.
February 10, 201016 yr Could do a cheap veggie curry If you're still with me, buy a Patak's Curry Paste Jar about ?1.50. Loads of others (possibly cheaper alternatives) Tinned toms, onions and whatever veg you like Cheapest veg is on the dried veg/beans/pulses. Best bargains on the "world foods" aisle or similar. So its worthwhile if you live somewhere vaguely ethnic. Knew they were useful for a reason For example a 2kg bag of Natco chick peas costs about 2-3 quid. Thats a lot of chick pea when you soak em. Similar with beans/lentils etc. remember you pre-soak and simmer the veg if required though.

Good advice from Carlos, but i'd add some steamed green veggies fromn the market and some cheap grilled fish such as mackerel, Herring or sardines from the fish market

February 10, 201016 yr Keep one of yer spuds. Find 3 fly-tipped tyres. Stack them on top of each other. Fill with soil, inverted turfs etc(to top of 1st tyre), - usually plenty dumped in sacks e.g. Raikes Lane. Plant said spud. As plant grows, keep filling with soil. When ready, harvest spuds gradually, one tyre at a time. Recycling, cheap etc- but you maight get hungry in the meantime.

You'd be surprised how imaginative you can be when threatened with spending the last of your ale budget on food! Tomato sauce butties. Tomato sauce on toast. Tomato sauce toasties. Tomato sauce blinis. Or just toast. Ad infinitum.............. Remember kids, remove the sauce from the sachets before putting them in the old george formby though.......

February 12, 201016 yr when i was a student one of mates was draining a tin of tuna into the sink when this lad we knew shouted "what the hell are you doing?!" He then stopped her poring it out, poured the tuna juice into a cup and saved it to put on his pasta later... I think I'd rather go without and keep what little pride I've got.
