Reet, Building For Next Season.

Silly season has started early already. Plenty of daft rumors, Spurs signing EVERY player under the age of 21, then end up on loan at Palace / Watford / Boro.

City signing David Villa, Ribery and any player they want....and probably getting a new manager.

United taking Rodwell, and throwing some more rejects at us.

Within a few months, you will get some know it all Journo saying who will improve every team, and seems to know where every manager fail !!

Who will Bolton be signing ??

Who do you want to sign ??

Who will you sell ??

What should I do about my bleeding ?ss ??

Will Cahill stay ??

If you think Robinson's a good left back you need your eyes testing pal.

  • robinsons weakness is a lack of pace   his experience, will to win and organising makre him a perfectly adequate full back   the left is definitely stronger than the right

Yes ahead of Muamba, he's created loads in assists and general play, scored 5 goals, always looking to pass and create, been more entertaining and provided pieces of magic.

Without Lee, yes we would have been less effective up top, and we would have needed someone else or some other way to create chances (probably more long balls to SKD), but IMO we would still finish safe.

Without Muamba we would be utterly fucked and our midfield would be over run in almost every match, and I have no doubt we would be relagated.

Therefore IMO Muamba is streets ahead.

P.s At the start of the season I thought that Muamba was worth a bit less than what we paid, probably about 3 or 4 mil, but I honestly now would not listen to anything below ?10 mil. I think he is a class act now and will only get better.

But shouldn't the award go to who's done more? i understand what you are saying, and i agree that Muamba has had a very good season, he's improved a lot and he gives is all, he has a lot of passion. I think Lee has contributed more to Bolton than Muamba, yes Muamba breaks up play and that, for players like Lee to do his stuff, but Lee still has effected results more imo.

On Burnden Aces, we do a Man of the match poll thread after every game, so far i would say Lee has won about 40% of the games, Lee can be inconsistent, he needs to work on his corners and get a little more strength.

It's all opinions, i'm not gonna slate Muamba, i think he's a massive player for us, but i do believe Lee has been our player of the season, for his 1st season in English football, he has been a massive hit, non - Bolton fans praise him, tv pundits and he's produced a good name for himself, i think he's better than Park, so if he can play for Utd, who knows were Lee will be in say 5 years when he's developed his skills.

The stats will say Muamba gets more tackles and see's more of the ball than Lee, but i think Lee does more with the ball, passing and creating wise. He has so much composure, doesn't just look to knock it forward, he likes to mix up his passes, uses Steinsson/RB when needed and has the confidence to do back heels[that work] and has provided so many moments to enjoy.

For 2.2 million, we have more than got a bargain, i'd say he's over 10 million now, he's more an Arsenal/Barca type of player, it's upto debate if he's good enough, but his style is similar to the players at them clubs, pass, pass, pass, pass, 1-2's, triangles etc.

Couple of points, chungy has potential i'll grant you but he's not there yet.

He's potentially better than Park IF he ups his workrate.

He's potentially a ?10m+ player if he continues to improve and provide the goods.

He's potentially an Arsenal/Barca type player.

At the moment he's a decent mid-table winger.

It would be a difficult one to judge really, in a way you could almost give to Coyle for the way he is getting more out of all the players who would feature in my top 4.

Elmander - (YES I really am including him), is working far harder since Coyle arrived and started to play 4-4-2

Knight - has been like a different player since Coyle came - I'm sure the extra responsibility with Cahill being out has helped too

Lee - since we went to 4-4-2 he is finding more room and more targets to cross to

Muamba - I've always liked the lad but many failed to see his strengths last season. He's come on superbly this season but under Coyle he has now added the ability to shoot on target and is starting to look dangerous attacking too now

Difficult to pick one out between Lee and Muamba. Lee has settled unbelievably quickly whilst Muamba just keeps gettting better and better. Can we have joint winners?!

As for next season, keep Wilshere for another season, work out the best centre-mid from Muamba, S Davis, M Davis and Holden - I think all we need is two proper full-backs (esp on the left side as I think Steinsson can just about do a job at right back) and the magical 15 goals a season striker to hang off K Davies up top.

We aren't too far short of being a good entertaining mid-table team - which lets be honest, is the best we can hope for.

compared to valencia and nani last week, LCY is a pub player.

im not saying he wont get to that level, but he's a LONG way from it at the minute.

But if Lee started for United, i think he would of fitted in well and produced for them. Fair point though Homer.

Edited by DidledeeBwfc

He wouldn't look out of place in a lot of the top sides imo, Such talent. Teams that like to keep the ball and passa round will be looking.

Can see him improving and playing for a massive club. Just look what he's done already, player of the season, goals, assists, not seen this type since Jay Jay's early days.

We know you hacve a not-so-secret crush on Chungy; we've seen the result or your ardour on YouTube. Thing is though, when you strip away your love for him, you'll see that, while he is undoubtedly a talent, he doesn't always deliver a final ball. As I stated elsewhere a couple of weeks ago, for him to beat 4 players and then lose the ball to the fifth, he might as well not have beaten the first.

But if Lee started for United, i think he would of fitted in well and produced for them. Fair point though Homer.

I have heard the arguement many times that if players played for the big clubs they would look better/fit in/walk into the national team.

The fact is that if a player is playing for us they are currently not good enough to play for the big clubs, if they are improving and might eb good enough one day, when that day comes they wont be playing for us.

The only real exception are young players that have come through the ranks or older players having an indian summer...maybe like jayjay or youri.

The only exception i can think of in recent times was when van de sarr was at fulham.

Okocha could of played for Real Madrid in his 1st season IMO, I think Lee is the closest we will get to seeing a unique flair player to compare with him. I know i sometimes go on about him a bit to much and don't always see his average times.

I think he is going to become a fantasic player, especially going of his 1st season already, if he does improve I think he won't be a Bolton player in a few years unless he really wants to stay, he seems to really enjoy it here, same goes with Cahill.

No he could nt, remember his debut at Fulham, I was only in the ground for about 50 minutes and that was enough for my expert eye to spot 'he will never do a job for us'

Look up the date of the game it was last time i was wrong.

Yes he didn't have a good debut, but when he came hack from injury and scored v Birmingham he wad unstoppable and created many amazing moments.

Scott Parker ??

Nigel Reo Coker anyone?

Nigel Reo Coker anyone?

remind who he plays for....

Nigel Reo Coker anyone?

i would of took him a few seasons ago, i wouldnt be paying mad money for him noe, not that we have mad money mind.

Villa but he fell out with O'Neill, who then made him captain then dropped him again.

Okocha could of played for Real Madrid in his 1st season IMO,

What does this mean. I am assuming you meant to write Okocha could HAVE played for Real Madrid.

If I am right in my assumption, I suggest you get your English teacher to give you more lessons.

Yes that is correct, i made a mistake.

has the money all dried up now garside's golden boy is no longer in charge

for what its worth i'de keep cahill, lcy, s davies and muamba. all the others i'de take money for were a really poor side and big changes need to be made.

The money hasn't dried up. It's just that January has never been the best month for transfer dealing. Coyle got in the loan players needed to keep Bolton up. I fully expect a fair bit if transfer activity this summer as Coyle goes about fashioning his team.

This next season we'll find out for sure what Vaz Te can do.

He was injured and might not of played again. He's been scoring in the reserves

though.

Does anyone share this possible thought?

Coyle is playing Elmander more than Klasnic, because in the summer we can't afford a new striker, so he needs to play Elmander to keep his spirits high because he's on a permanent and Klasnic is on loan?

I'm not hating on Elmander, i think he's been doing better recently, and Klasnic has had an injury so maybe that's why Coyle doesn't start him.

I would like to know what happened to the money we used to try and get Veloso and Emana, hopefully Coyle get's quite a good budget and can build is own team/type of players in the summer

land_of_sea, it would be interesting to see if Vaz Te gets a chance under Coyle, and see if he turns out to be a good player.

I wish I had thumpence for every time that was said.

Interesting if Vaz Te gets a testimonial. Richly deserved I'm sure most would agree.
