i can see Elmander signing a new cut price deal after no-one approaches him in the summer. Then i would imagine he'll just sulk, play even worse, and we'll wish he'd just fooked off. Get rid asap. Im

No story there. He's at the end of his contract, he's said if Bolton don't offer him an extension on his contract he'll go elsewhere. He isn't the first and won't be the last.

ive always defended elmander, but he's been awful since negotiations broke down.

if he leaves, so be it. i wont lose any sleep and im sure he wont.

this story is just bollocks though.

in fact i can see him moving to spain on a free and banging a shitload of goals in.

ideal league for him imo

Maybe he should think about the words coming out of his mouth though, especially at a time when goals aren't coming and he needs the crowd on his side. As opposed to thinking he's just freeloading his way through the last months of his contract before the next big payday arrives elsewhere.

I agree he is daft speaking to the press, another way to interpret the story is that although he is out of contract elmander is still not ruling out signing an extension at bolton, what a nice story in this day and age when players are usually agreeing pre contract terms with their new employer asap.

He's a modern-day mercenary professional footballer. Why should he care what value he's given BWFC ...... or not.

Non-story.

Following those comments and I hope they where not taken out of context?

**Elmander can f**k right off right now!!!

**if he did say it

Define 'break down'

IIRC from what we heard coming out of the club and from Elmander both parties agreed to put them on hold.

Is this an international week and he was speaking to some reporter back home....

I doubt they were in or out of context because I doubt he even said them. Footballers know how well off they are; how much money they get irrespective of results; not even the numbest fucker would spout off to the press about how the club and fans who pay your over-inflated wages can fuck off at the end of the season. . .

can they?:pardon:

Is this an international week and he was speaking to some reporter back home....

I would imagine that's what it is, and we'll no doubt see other things come out in the press about what other footballers have said about their clubs......90% of it being complete rubbish and taken totally out of context.

Now the transfer window is shut, the hacks have to go back to making up stories and misquoting folk in order to fill the papers

Weather he said it or not, we've put up with him and his inconsistencies for his time with us im not reet arsed if he stays of goes now.

The way that he is playing at the moment, he is probably regretting turning down a reasonable deal in December.

He can't move now until the summer and I suspect that we are seeing how he performs in the rest of the season before offering a 29 year old a bumper 3 year contract.

Probably the same for any other clubs who would have bid in the window if they really wanted him.

I thought we offered him a deal and he said he wanted to wait until the summer? Theres no way we did not offer him some sort of deal with only 6 months left on his current deal.

If you look at his career stats after us his highest total of games was 60 odd for Toulouse - he's a serial mover and has had a number of loan spells which can indicate the ability to flatter to deceive and the need for a "fresh challenge" every 2 years or so when he's you've been "found out" - he owes us nothing having seen out his contract we did offer him an extension but like 100's of pro footballers when they look at their "youtube" compilations has an over hyped view of their ability - he's as good as gone for me - not keeping Elmander for his talent is far outweighted by watching ?8m walk out the door for nowt in terms of disappointment for me

At Bolton he's done it backwards. Maybe he thought it'd fool us, start off crap and then, after two years raise your game to mediocre!

To be fair, you can't blame him - one last payday this time round, his family security is more important than loyalty. That's the fact for any player, more or less.

The issue is him opening his chops, whether to a foreign journo or not. He's currently out of form, he's not the player he was pre-Christmas, he needs the crowd on his side, no matter what the state of play with contracts.

But as has been said, it was his choice to turn down the deal and leave it until the last minute. If we've not been back, it's probably because we don't know what funds we have, much of which depends on hiw high we get up the table. If he pulled his finger out, there might be more in the pot come June.

What about the first two years he was here when he floated around the pitch like a tesco bag? Now he wants a better contract for more money <img src='http://www.wanderersways.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':::lol:::' />

He should think himself lucky he has a chance to stay in the premier league at all because there isnt many teams who will put up with a good 3 months every 3 seasons for 50 grand a week is there?

Not to mention we spent ?8 million pounds on the cheeky fucker.

I'm in the 'if he said that he can get fucked' camp.

If there was a source or at least an indication of a source then I'd be fuming.

Tickled me that did  :good:

When contract is over he is not obliged to sign for us. Is anyone disputing that?

We started discussions on a new deal and both sides agreed to put on hold. Is anyone disputing that?

If he stays or goes he will get paid more a month then we all get in a year. Is anyone disputing that?

if we offer him ?20k per week he will go, if we offer a deal that is comparable with what he could get elsewhere he might stay.

There is a danger of story being made out of nothing here. Without seeing a transcript of the whole interview it would be impossible to judge him. Maybe he has been told that Bolton will only pay him so much so he wants to get his name out there, maybe he has been told we would rather spend his wages on a one year loan deal for sturridge, maybe he said 'i am not obligated to sign for bolton' and added 'although i would love to stay'

we could all assume the worst (or the best if someone peoples opinions of him are right)

if the club want him enough (ie pay him lots) he will stay, if someone wants him more than us (ie pay him more)he will leave. I would rather he stayed we freed up money by selling klasnic who never even gets on the pitch these days. Strange we get more annoyed about this unfounded incomplete story than we do about Klasnic being accused of rape.

he should be begging for a new contract imo

He has been offered a contract, but on reduced terms apparently.

We should have tried to offload him on Jan 1st.

he should be begging for a new contract imo

i bet he has no problem getting a new one elsewhere.

maybe on less money, but the signing on fee will make up for that i reckon.

even if he has not said what has been quoted

i still want him to fuck off

2 seasons of complete shite followed by 18 games

of decent football then back to the old shit form

does not in my eyes deserve rewarding

if he can get more money somewhere else then good for him

but can't see anybody willing to pay him a decent wage
