Zico Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 (edited) You're happy with a strikeforce of Davies, Klasnic and Eaves then? no I was referring to the deals that have been suggested/look likely I'm happy with the Pratley signing to strengthen the middle of the park I'd be happy if we sold Cahill and got Onuha and Boyata in I'd also be happy if we made Al Habsi our no.1 I'm sure this won't be the end of our summer activity them I'll comment on the strikeforce as and when deals/movement look likely as opposed to plucking random names out of a hat and then getting angry when Coyle doesn't appear to have the same level of interest as me Edited May 26, 2011 by ZicoKelly
tylswhite Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 If we got the following players in i would be happy with the squad for next season. Sturridge Nugent/bothroyd (take a punt sort of striker) Onouha Boyatta Pratley Barton Warnock Now if we managed to get all them our squad and team would be much better than as it stands imo. Obviously ive included cahill leaving and generating some cash to spend.

Guest Blixa Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 The latest stories about a swap sound a bit agent-generated. Don't see a shred of truth in it.

Warnock would prob be a good and realistic signing Sturridge hopeful but not optimistic Barton - not even on our radar I wouldn't have thought, but that's not our fault

DazBob Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I'm a bit annoyed with myself, but I actually got a bit angry reading some of the stuff on there. You'd have thunk that Cahill is some big meat-head defender the way they talk about him. - ie references to "no nonsense". If it wasn't for the fact that we'll, by far, get the best deal out of Citeh, I'd rather he went elsewhere. Cunts, the lot of 'em.
SpiritofBurnden Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 You'd have thunk that Cahill is some big meat-head defender the way they talk about him. - ie references to "no nonsense". Bolton fans cant wait to get rid of him. Coyle cant wait to get rid of him. Apparently we all think he's crap. There was me thinking that the only reason we were interested in selling him was to raise some money to re-build the team.

Youri McAnespie Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 (edited) How long before they can rival the Munich? two seasons? three? They're well on their way, yet again they always had the potential to be massive cunts. I can pre-empt what these wankstains will answer, to any accusations of buying success in future... (Adopt annoying Manc accent) "Yeah, but I was there in the dark days, division two - if we hadn't of had 'the Goat' back then...we deserve this and anyway we'd have been back here regardless, we're sleeping giants - the oil money just speeded (sic) the process up..." tossers. onefinfrandsen Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 is onuoha a centre half or a full back? City season ticket holder at work says he is the quickest defender hes ever seen , so for that reason im in .
Guest Blixa Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Just to re-open this thread, seems to be a lot of stories about saying Cahill to City deal could be dead. Obviously not true, someone just wants to push the deal through on terms currently on the table. Be finalised by weekend. Mark my words.
surrey_white Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 With Phil Jones signing for the munich bastards and turning Liverpool and Arsenal down, me thinks there might well be a three way battle for Cahill. With City the other team involved. Let the bidding commence
Traf Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Has nobody told Mourinho & Guardiola? Getting some foreign interest can only help swell the coffers.
Danny G Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 His release clause is 17 million, so they will not be a bidding war, unless we get a good player thrown in with the deal. i.e 15 mill plus Onuoah

Sweep Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 His release clause is 17 million, so they will not be a bidding war, unless we get a good player thrown in with the deal. i.e 15 mill plus Onuoah ?17M ? That's ?2M higher than the lowest "release clause" and ?3M lower than the highest "release clause" that I have heard in the space of a week. I'm suprised he's got so many release clause values.....you would think just the one would do
Boothy Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Bolton News explicitly states he has a ?17 million buyout clause. In any case, a swap deal would probably be far more beneficial for Bolton, given the sell-on clause to Villa. (Assuming we get the right players in). How did Onuoha do at Sunderland?

Very well by all accounts, I would rip Citys hands off at the reported ?17m + Onuoha but I think the wheels are coming off this one. The worst thing for us was the fact that Toure will be back in September, if he got a good year ban Cahill would be at City now IMO. Its worrying seeing Phil Jones go to United because that means United are out of the race. Its down to Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool or Spurs now and I cannot see any of these paying ?17m. I think it might drag on until August and we end up taking ?14m + Sturridge on loan for a year on loan from Chelsea. Be well worth it to get DS back on loan though.
HR Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 So another series of 'insider' press releases by agents from each camp, first talking up then talking back down his chances of leaving. There will be an Arsenal renewed interest one tomorrow.
Guest Blixa Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Take everything with a bucket of salt under you see a photo of the player holding a shirt or scarf on the pitch.

If, say arsenal are interested at 17 mil,but city want him more, surely they can put a higher bid in?, in any case not a bad profit as long as OC can get the cash to re-invest
