I'll give you that one. Burnley is primitive, but less than many parts of Glasgae.

I was going to argue

then remembered the conversation at work about 5.45 this afternoon

We have a relief security guard at work

he seems a decent enough young lad and is down from kirkintiloch and did his job ok.

He came in to give me his keys back tonight and he asked me where he could buy a few bottles of buckfast

I reckon bucky is just a scottish thing

it is not acceptable drinking practice even by my standards

or am I missing out

or being snobbish a la no balls?

  • I'd hazard a guess it's because the football is so dire they need to entertain themselves in other ways.

I am fairly certain that we sang 'Bright side of life' before Manure did

Neither does scrabble

But your vocabulary has gone up a few notches.

Nowt wrong with improving your posts Traf

Jesus Christ, my posts must have been really basic if using the word primitive seems verbose.

I have a feeling we sang "always look on the runway for ice" to the same tune first but seem to recall that bright side of life came from somewhere obscure like Norwich or sum such place....or maybe not, its all a bit hazy.

Right. this munich love in is pissing me off but

Man Utd first sung always look on the bright side of life before their cup winners cup final in 1991 that i remember

we copied the song to as much better always look on the runway for ice" a while after it

no idea if anyone sung it before that, but, it being a fairlry popular , generic song, it's entirely possible

I've got a vague feeling someone sang it to United first after coming back against them but then United took it on then as theirs.. Having said that I'm pretty certain United sang You'll never walk alone first and completely out of character the scousers stole it.. Bolton have got loads of songs as has been covered on here endlessly but its only now and again you hear them all.. Any 'Arsenal' fan in the Irish bar in Sofia the night before Rabitiniki would think Bolton had the greatest song book in the world

"Who's that coming up the hill boys"

Perfectly good song that should be sung a lot bloody more than it is now...

Think newcastle actually change the words and have it as a song for a player, whereas we just play it after a goal

They can have it though if they want

Scottish fans have more invention to there songs...

i don't know what he reason is but there is miles more originality up there.

If you think of any songs that have started up recently they have spread from Scotland

The scouseres have fields of anfield road ripped straight off celtics fields of athenry

I'm not sure Celtic fans singing Irish folk songs should be classed as original.

Football is a tribal sport and to imitate someone elses tribe is just wrong!!!

I think this is one of ours... unless we've nicked it off Wolves, or Wycombe.

Didn't want to break the news to you as I know how much it could hurt; but now you mention it yep they were basic as you could get

If you look back at the thread you have said here is a word and another post here are two words hence the dictionary jibe.

Good job you didn't bother using floccinaucinihilipilification in your post!

Here you go, way too fast, don't slow down you're gonna crash.

Back onto songs

Not heard 'as I was walking down Bradshawgate, I say king Charlie Hurley' one for a long time - was that one of ours

We have been singing the 'Bertie Mee said to Don Revie, have you heard of the North Bank Highbury, Don says no ..........' recently but it is so old no facker knows what the songs on about - again was that just one of ours?

Whatever we dont seem to sing proper songs these days and we should have one of our own, like the blue moon and keep right on, which relates to us only

Oh we keep chickens in our back yard. We should be able to re-jig for Blackburn.

Whatever we dont seem to sing proper songs these days and we should have one of our own, like the blue moon and keep right on, which relates to us only

The Lion of Vienna should be our club anthem. It's unique to us and it's got a great sing-a-long chorus:

Twas the first song I taught my lad, another favorite was "I was born under the Lever End"

Stockport have a song called 'the scarf my father wore' which the supporters club released last year to raise money!

Better than bucket shakers to get the cash in.

I got chills listening to that! That definitely needs to be played before the games, with the crowd singing the chorus.

Eh, its shite and embarassing.

Eh, its shite and embarassing.

Must admit it doesn't get the hair at the back of the neck raising (what is all that shit about hair at the back of the neck - I dont have any)

Eh, its shite and embarassing.

Aren't they all to a certain extent? Unless you're saying that some Harry Lauder dirge ('Keep Right On'), or a couple camp tunes from musicals (YNWA, I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles) are the epitome of cool.

How about an old favourite:

"You're gonna get your fucking heads kicked in <repeat>"

And then vary it with

You're going home in a ST johns ambulance

And then vary it with

Then add in.... "<insert opposition club name> sing... I dont know why, as after the match you're gonna die"
