i eat meat but have no qualms about how it's killed.

 

i've trapped skinned and cooked my own dinner enough times for it not to bother me.

Imagine being a turkey in January with a full 11 months life ahead of you..... and then Subway switch from pork to turkey and kaboom, your life time on death row gets severely shortened!

 

Personally I could not give a hoot what or where it came from or how it got killed. If it tastes good then that's good enough for me.

 

My only swipe at Subway would be - how many Muslims actually frequent their establishments?

I've just been to the local shop and they didn't have any caviar and truffles, apparently there's no demand for them in Atherton. Peasants. Fucking outrage.

I believe these Subways are franchises so would have the option of using whatever ingredients are ok?d by Subway. I imagine that pork is used in other Subways, so it would be interesting to find out who owns this one.......

That will be euro garages, they have over 100 petrol stations in the area.

 

The thing is most non muslims dont give a fuck how the meat is killed and could probably not tell the difference from a turkey sausage, if alot of folk started to proactivley ask for non halal / pork then it would soon change.

Used to like them until I had an office above one and the daily smell put me off.

 

Left that office 4 yrs ago and I'm still put off

It's a definate sweaty type aroma which is a bit worrying when they're basically making butties with a filling plus salad.

i'm not sure but there was someone on a similar thread a few months back who explained the ins and outs of the various slaughter methods.

 

Although my stand point is if you want happy animals don't kill them and eat them to begin with.

If nobody ate meat, farmers would not stock cattle and sheep and such animals would become extinct.

My little girl had her birthday party at home yesterday.I did the food,nowt Gordon Ramsay - just the usual shite that 8 year olds like.

One kid says " Theres hardly anything that i can eat"

"Why's that?" i said

"Cos i'm a muslim"

She goes to the same CofE school as my daughter,ALL the other kids were tucking in.

"I'm hungry" says the muslim girl - i offered her some crisps(not smoky bacon).

Did her parents, on returning the "I would be so pleased to come to your party . . . " leaflet mention their daughter's religious diet? If not, it's their fault that their daughter missed out on the sausage rolls.

 

 

Or you could have done what I once did at a barbercue; when asked for a veggie burger I just put a normal one on a bun and said it was the new Linda McCartney range. I was complimented on them!
