Port Vale

Think back to 1993,for that second half of the season,I reckon the results of Port Vale were watched by Bolton fans more than any other club in the country! ...imagine if they had won at Exeter that night Stuart Storer helped us out! where would we be now,and where would they!

They had Robbie Earl,Dean Glover,Robbie Van da Laan,Martin Foyle.....a great side.

but what the fuck has happened to them since?

cunts

i remember well... when we played Stoke at home, they were going to Blackpool and I saw about 15 coaches heading there while driving down the M6 between the M61 juction and the Blackpool one whilst driving south.

I now doubt they would take 15 to Blackpool.

How times change!

Things are shite for us just now.... but not as shite as if we were Port Vale and we easily could have been

I heard the Stoke fans were more ecstatic than us when Julian Darby scored.

They sure was

Was it Ron futcher who chose them over us and said he was going to a bigger club?

Bernie Slaven

had the choice of Bolton or Port Vale

whoops

we will be playing them again in 2013 anyway :pardon:

Used to be the best pie at an away ground there

Always seemed to get the shithouses when stoke had the nutters; never forget them celebrating my namesake's goal as it meant we'd go up instead of vaaaaaaaale

Wasn't frandsen and johansen's league debut there in div 1 days?

It was, I still remember that - it's almost laughable now to think he said that

They were at Blackpool when we played Preston and were at Exeter the night we played Stoke

At Exeter they got a last min pen or something that sparked a pitch invasion where one the officials got smacked on the back of the head by an Exeter fan!

At one point that season I seem to recall we were 20 points behind stoke in 1st and 10 behind Vale in 2nd

day after curcic left

5 days after I had his name on my shirt

The first, only & last time I've ever had a name & number on one of mi shirts

Used to get their "Seth Bottomley" fanzine from Piccadilly Records, the best there was IMO. Still use some of their gags as my own.

Vale always reminded me of Stockport county

In a tinpot but we know we're tinpot kin of way

They must be hating how successful sterk have been of late

I didn't realise how close Vale were to making the play-offs in the season when we were promoted as Champions from the Championship/League One/Second Division, in that last season at Burnden.

That was the first player I had on my shirt - tried removing it with strong industrial spirit, result = runied.

On the positive side, always a good trip to Vale Park and to be fair, they always brought a few.

Been talking about shit like this today, probably deserve its own post but the only thing good to come out of going down when/if it happens is some cracking old school away days (for a season or 2 at least until that becomes boring aswell)....

Derby

Leicter

Hull

Leeds

Brighton

Forrest

Blackpool

Burnley

One of the Sheffiled teams most likely

and more

Think we would take a really strong old school away following to most of these, beats paying ?50 at Munich and anfield.

Granted it would be the end of the world and we would be shit etc etc etc, Im just looking for a tiny upside.

there'll be 10k in the reebok, we'll get twatted by megsons lot and you reckon theres something positive in us getting relegated

No nothing positive, but trying to look on the positive side.

Relegation will see us fu**ed like Derby, Leeds, Bradford, Sheff Utd / Weds etc. But on todays (and the rest of this

seasons performances) it doesn't look good.
