I've Seen Some Shite In My Time As A Bwfc Fan

As the title suggests, I've seen some shite in my time as a BWFC fan but this has to be one of the worst I've seen since the early 80's and for those that don't know me I've been watching Bolton since the early 70's.

This is probably the worst collective bunch of players that we've had on the field since those dark days and if it continues, those dark days are just around the corner if not here already. The buck has to stop with the manager, it's his team, it's his selection and it's his motivation (what's that?), that said the players have to take some responsibility but there is not one single player rolling up his sleeves and getting 'stuck' in and fighting for the cause and the right to wear the white shirt.

I hear people bleating on about Lee and Holden being out injured but ffs 2 players don't make a team, they make a difference yes but there are another 9.

Since we have been a regular Premiership club we have had some very good players such as Campo, Djorkaeff, Okocha, Frandsen, Burgson, N'Gotty to name a few but year on year we have failed to replace these players with 'better' or similar and for me that's the failing. To survive in the Premiership you need players of quality throughout the side not players that could just about hold their own in the Championship. Well they will be able to pit their wits against those Championship players sooner than they think, well come next August.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong but we are doomed. My letter to Father Christmas goes like this.."Please Santa can we have a right back and a left back, 2 centre halves as Cahill will be gone a few weeks after you drop down my chimney. While I'm asking, can we have another central midfield player instead of the Warren Joyce one we have now. Sod it I'll be really cheeky, can we also have a right and left winger with another 2 forwards. I don't want much I know but as them busty blondes have never materialised from last few Christmas' so I think you owe me big time."

Lets be honest who as a player do you reckon listens to what the manager shouts on the sideline? There aint much point shouting after the balls gone in anyway because its too late.

What do you think he should do when the opposition score?

I don't agree.

I want to see that we've got a manager who looks like he cares. I want to have a manager who's jumping off his seat every two minutes, moaning at every decision that doesn't go our way. I want a manager who's both applauding and bollocking our players.

I don't want a manager who sits there looking like a lost little boy surrounded by clueless coaches and a fat bastard who washes the kits.

As Jules says, I think it's psychological. When he's just sat there impassive I can't help but think "Get fucking screaming, man. Kick some waterbottles."

I don't agree.

Ahh thats what he does, I thought he was the new fitness coach.

Its not just Coyle its the players too.

One of my abiding memories of Campo is when we went 2-0 down early on in the Carling Cup final and you could see he was telling everyone to calm down and that we could get this back.

Praise the lord someone has finally said it.

Haven't we been saying it since we all witnessed David Luiz continually having the freedom of the entire pitch at the Reebok? Not one person rallied everyone together and said, "Right lads, this is fucking embarrassing."

I don't agree.

That all sounds great but if the players have been playing ping pong all week he can shout all he fucking wants because it wont make a blind bit of difference.

For me a manager shouting or not shouting makes a very minimal difference. If he hasnt set the players up right through the week during training then its all fucking pointless. Typical OC teamtalk is "Go out there and enjoy the game"

Fuck off Coyle you happy clapping wanker.

See I can't totally agree

If we're 2-0 down at home to Villa in the first half, it can't possibly be going to his plan

Whether his plan is right or wrong in the first place

That's why he should look emotive

The point is he doesnt have a fucking plan. His plan is "Go out there and enjoy youselves" followed by an enthusiastic clap.

Well that is his plan!

As little as it could be described as that

And when that doesn't work, just because it appears to me so minimal, he could at least look a bit miffed!

Or is that part of the plan too

I think you're all being about harsh about the fat bastard who washes the kits.

He's also the darts coach.

I feel a bit of a meanie for bringing up the fat bastard now. I'm sure he's a lovely chap. He looks quite jolly. Mind you, fat bastards often do.

Kevin Davies?

So, that's how he gets a game every week, he turns up with his kit and boots already on ala Sunday morning footy

I have to agree about looking miffed but he just hasnt got it in him. If i was managing anything and the people who im in charge of performed as badly as our team is I would be fuming.

I honestly think he doesnt shout because he doesnt know what to say. He cant say "Weve done that in training all week, wake the fuck up and do it" because the players would probably pull their table tennis bats out :D

Lads, footballs simple really, Coyle the manager tells his first 11 boys what to do,

The keeper should stop shots, fek it just stop it get in the way of it easy....

The defenders defend, stop the opposition shooting or getting past you...

The Midfielders fight like fek for the ball & give it to

The attackers who simply have to hit the target to make the keeper work or if lucky get it past said keeper for a goal...

Simple really so whats going wrong :pardon:

All of the above really .......... starting with "Coyle the manager tells his first 11 boys what to do"

And in fairness the kit always look sparkling at kick-off

And for some of them at the end of the game too I may add

There is something drastically wrong when you have not drawn a match for over 20 games, I keep mulling everything over and i am at the point where I am very very angry at O.C. The players and the Bolton heirachy what is happening to our great club is fuckin disgraceful the whole caboodle needs a massive shake up, Im not happy camper at the moment.

The worse thing is nobody at the club is doing anything about it, the players should be fighting for their lives instead of just strolling through games hardly breaking sweat, all you get from coyle is that we go again dust our selves down and come in monday with a smile on our faces. i like coyle but i think that is part of the problem hes to nice, he needs give a few bollockings, chuck a few tea pots at half time. i think if we could have another fans forum at the reebok and get every member of the first team squad to face the fans then they would truly realise how we feel, because the way we are just drifting and going down without a fight is heart breaking. thinking back to to how hard it was to get in the top division until we made it back in 95 , the team and manage ment need to have a long hard look at ther selves.

The media make me laugh.

Coyle = Good football.

Pulis = Bad football.

I know which one i'd rather have right now.

Look at the players that Stoke have brought in and look at there strength in depth.

We are sinking fast and as much as it pains me Coyle needs to get the shove and we need to bring in a manager of the quality of Mark Hughes.

West Brom made a tough decision last season when they got rid of Di Matteo and some thought it was a knee jerk reaction. But the decision was proved to be an inspired executive decision.

Time for some balls, and tough love.

Its not just Coyle its the players too.

IMHO , The only players with that level of commitment are steinsson (doing his platoon , willem dafoe impersonation)' Robinson, and Reo Coker

Maybe not those most talented, but Warhurst was the same kind of animal, and he knew how to motivate the team

So make one of them captain, and then go to war !

  • 4 years later...

We've been depressed for so long :(

Aye, there used to be a time when the manager was blamed for Mark Davies not producing the goods.

Half a decade on of failure under 2 more managers I think the jury has decided on Mark Davies.

Another pearler "I still maintain the fact that the squad is more than good enough."

Nah - Knight, Robinson, Eagles, Boyata, Pratley, Tuncay, Mark Davies - over half that team wasn't good enough for the Premier League, and remember Our Eddie insisted on selling Cahill a few weeks after this defeat.

The media make me laugh.
