I wouldn't scrap ALL benefits, disability benefits and carer benefits should remain - and policed better than they are......

It does need a limit and also needs to be managed better. If you get benefits you should have to do something for society to earn them, like voluntary work, gardening for old folks etc unless of course you have mobility issues.

 

I have a friend who does the reviews for folk on DLA and over 40% dont turn up for their appointment. Their benefit is then stopped until they appeal which surprisingly most don't.

It should go on contribution...

 

if a man #9or woman for that matter) reaches retiirement age then they deserve their benefit.

 

If he falls unemployed after 30 years contributing into the pot before retirement age he deserves to be receiving something in return

 

A foreigner walking into the country with no skills or job having never contributed a penny to our economy should get a one way ticket out, and that's it in my view

 

 

The sick and infirm (rigerous tests need to be done) also deserve benefits.

 

School leavers need to be put into work to receive benefits, be it sweeping the streets or cleaning graffiti anything really, just not cash for having kids and sitting on their arses or robbing the elderly

Cap. It's a shitter to know I work bloody hard 13 hour shifts knowing that some people sit on their arses raking in every benefit they can and are better off than me

I didnt see it but how much is child benefits? they must be raking it in ?60k - ?70k a year easy.

As Jazza said, you should be able to get out once you have put in.

It was in the paper today some Romanian Gyppo was claiming 26k a year in benefits which is equivalent to a 36k per year job before tax.

Benefits are there to help the most needy and those unfortunate to be out of work for a short period. What gets me pissed off is that for millions it is a lifestyle choice and that the previous communist goverment did not have the balls to tackle the issue in fear up upsetting its core band of suporters

That is why me and many other working class folk have gone from ticking the red box to the blue one

there is a difference IMO between folk who live in social housing and pay their rent etc themselves out of their earnings and those who rely on the state to fund everything.

 

Just because you live in social housing it doesnt make you a scumbag.

Anybody put that they're all scumbags prior to you posting that?

The majority of single people are on ?67.50 a week if they are 25 or over. The press always go on about people on ?200,000 a week benefits, the BBC website has even got incorrect amounts down as examples.

 

You lot on here should be more worried about the plans to limit contributary benefits to just 12 months.,,,but you wont know much about that....another way the government will fook you.
