I see where you're coming from, but maybe he wants to test out young blood to see who he can possibly take along? In which case it is still a warm-up. I think your point is only valid if he uses all young players and then just takes the tried and tested to the tournament.

A warm-up game would be trying to get his first-choice team into some sort of pre-tournament form. Not that the players are all available, so that's out the window anyway.

Same here, bolton win a league cup or England win a world cup, not even remotely close/anything to think about.

If it meant england not getting a single point in the euros for Bolton to stay up, i would take that every day of the week.
