Mounts Kipper Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Friday/Saturday and they were parked on the street, one I know on Calle Rafal. Also someone had their patio furniture thrown in their pool but I thought you might be the prime suspect on that one. Not guilty I walk up Calle Almoradi back to my place and on Saturday night I was drowning my sorrows after my first trip to the Macron this season. Quote
leigh white Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 I fucking hate bad summers, still, the upturn will be a milder winter again. Quote
gonzo Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 I fucking hate bad summers, still, the upturn will be a milder winter again. Mild means wind and rain. The storms will be back. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Aye. We need some periods of proper cold weather too. It encourages blossoming and fruit production which is important economically. Can help twat pests too. And its shit not being able to build a snowman. Quote
gonzo Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 She's coming all right. I've just cleared and stacked the garden furniture and wedged in a corner. Trampoline sides are down, and I've put extra battens in to wedge panels in tighter. I'm normally pretty sheltered as my gardens backs facing west forwards a big fuck off forest, so that takes most of the hit when it's a zephyr. But it's a steady blow at 62mph from 3am. That means gusts in the 80's. That's gonna be very tasty indeed. If it's anything a strong as that in notlob you'll wake up to no fence panels and maybe a new trampoline in your garden. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 No where near as bad as predicted. Heard nowt. Quite lucky re panels as most of the garden is hedging and puppy proof mesh! No trees down neither. Quote
Carlos Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 My fence panels went nowhere as the fucknugget who fitted the posts did them wonky so they were put in with a sledgy. Quote
L/H White Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 it was cranking upna notch around 3am, nothing like was predicted tho Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Must confess put the stove on the other night. Quote

MancWanderer Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 (edited) Geese are departing in their droves. Must mean high pressure next week.. Mowed the lawn early evening. A massive V formation of birds were heading due south overhead. With the stragglers I reckon it took nearly 5 minutes for the lot of them to depart. No idea what they were as they were too high up. Looked like gulls but probably not. That tells me winter is on it's way You'll know best gonzo. Are they taking advantage of strong Northerly winds? Flight to Gran Canaria last week was 3 hours 15 mins due to tail winds but coming back was 4 hours 45 mins Edited September 19, 2017 by MancWanderer Quote
gonzo Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 Aye the ones you see now will be buggering off down the west coast to Portugal and Africa staying along the western coastline. The arctic geese will be arriving on these shores soon. Usual in lochs in Scotland first then they leg it south to feed once they've bred. Quote
