Fairly certain no one is arsed, but we're still buzzing so I'm telling you all anyway.  We got incredibly lucky, thankfully! Weather was spot on and it properly set the tone for a perfect day, co

Sunday looking good for that ????

Sunday looking good for that

Excellent.

Too many warm winters recently.

Need some cold for the benefit of a number of plants and animals.

Kin ell it's put some down today. Still going strong as well.

You've had it worse- only really rained this evening

Been flooding in chorley and this after some in dingle land yesterday.

Despite this everywhere is saturated. Where's the bastard frost.

Was out with the pups earlier and saw a fresh horse shit with hundreds of little flies on it; this after not seeing a single wasp in my garden in the summer.

We should all leave our fridges open.

My road has flooded for the first time since 1967.

Waist deep now outside. Coming in through my front door and through my air bricks.

Electrics went but now managed to get lights on at least. Just having a brew with the fire brigad now.

Managed to get car and van to higher ground. Next doors Mercedes currently floating like a turd.

Travelled across cleveleys and Blackpool to get some sandbags and managed to get 6. Everyone doing the same but all roads are fucked.

Ace.

Houses on school road down from me are completely submerged.

jesus mate :(

Sorry to hear that gonzo.

Just seen galgate on the local news- brings it home to see a road where you used to live submerged.

Not sure there's much folk can do to help; but if you do need any help ie with transport/lugging shit about, more than happy to bring the van up.

All the best.

Cheers mate....muchly appreciated.

As was all the other offers of help.

As it turned out we got lucky and it could've been a whole lot worse. Compared to our neighbours and the majority of houses up school road we got off lightly.

The water came in under our floor in front room and has cause the wood flooring split. 2-3 panels at most. Won't know the full extent till we strip back but going to let everything dry out first. It also came in porch and hallway and flooded the meter cupboard but we managed to dry it all out.

When we went to bed at about 2am the water was about to burst over the sandbags, if it had carried on raining like it was for even an hour we'd have been proper fucked.

This morning I had to wade knee deep to pub up the road to retrieve the car, park round the corner and then stick the kids on my shoulders and get them in to get them to school and nursery which was unaffected as near the prom.

Last night was just bonkers. I was the first on my street to realise what was actually going on and about to happen, most of my neighbours were oblivious to the fact they had waves of water drifting up their drives and it hadn't stopped raining for 14 hours solid. It was only when water started enerering houses folk panicked. Mental.

Crisis like that doesn't half bring the best and worst in people, proper community spirit kicked in round me. Folk pitching in filling pillow cases wth soil and gravel and wading through water to pull folk out of houses. On the other hand at various places where sandbags were being dished out it was a free for all haha

There's still a lake outside my house but thankfully it's at the end of the drive now, further down the road towards the old rail track is still ostracised though.

They may have floated away, whilst he was in his pyjamas...

A cloud so dark and doom-laden has just covered Horwich that it feels like the world is about to end.

Or is it just night time?

Wife rang a few minutes ago saying a cloud of doom was lurking over her way (leyland). Its arriving now!

Funnily enough during this morning's sunshine and clear blue skies there was an almighty flash, like lightning, but can't have been, and no thunder neither. Weird stuff.

Cloud of doom came over Blackburn about 30 mins ago. It's now snowing, proper fluffy snow. Weather is fucked.
