I was sent as a High Volume Pump specialist to Humberside where I worked a 36 hour shift. Somerset Levels were a couple of years later but you're right, the level of reporting; North against South was remarkable.

A bit of confirmation basis there Michael. I remember folk without any insurance cover on the news complaining that nothing was being done for them whilst their neighbours with building and contents insurance were being sorted. The government has spent £50m on flood defences in Humberside since with a further £120m to come.
