Fairly certain no one is arsed, but we're still buzzing so I'm telling you all anyway.  We got incredibly lucky, thankfully! Weather was spot on and it properly set the tone for a perfect day, co

No sign here yet.

Still forecast gales but no show yet.

The sky in Bedfordshire is now a very bizarre hazy orange colour - most freaky

You best see a doctor for that mate :D

....it's just landing here now. Proper swirly number

30 years since the big storm

who Remembers that one

Wife's grandad lived down in surrey. Had a bit of land with horses. The storm brought shit loads of trees down and as far as I'm aware they're still lying in the rough paddock to this day, albeit a bit decayed.

Don't remember it doing anything up here. I slept through it.

Darn sarf got proper twatted though

I drove down from an overnight stay near Northampton to Crystal Palace for the AAA 6-stage road relay,  Although we went round the South Circular there were loads of diversions and trees down everywhere. The course was within the CP National Sports Centre and had to altered because of fallen trees, as priority for attention were public roads.

we were on holiday in newquay, stayed at the headlands hotel, thought the hotel was going to collapse, scary stuff..

I'm flying to Dublin first thing tomorrow then driving to a meeting in somewhere called Offally which is doubtless a sinister backwater populated by toothless simpletons, Tarmac experts and Sinn Fein types.

I'm rather hoping the runway has blown away and I don't have to go

Aye, it was apocalyptic here a few miles north. Genuinely weird. Mind you, Leicestershire is genuinely odd at the best of times....

Stayed for a few days in a cottage in the sticks in Leicestershire a few years ago. Had an almighty thunder storm and rain from the Bible.

Must be something about the place.

Not sure where in Offaly you’re off to but there no power in large parts of it.

Plus, you’ll be pleased to know it’s in the midlands and you have to go on the M6 to it, so home from home

Going to Birr, which according to that article has loads of power lines down.

As for the M6 bit, well that's just fucking swell.

Oh, and my flight number coming back is FR666

The omens are all there.

Hinckley is the oddest place I've been to in the UK

And I've been to Dove Holes

I worked in Athlone near there a good few years back, they were only just building the bastard motorway then, took hours to get there from Dublin.

Anyway, you will be pleased to hear that they are an odd bunch round them parts! :)

If it carries on like this you'll not be flying anywhere.

Dogs went out for a mooch a while back and haven't stopped twatting each other since. Seems like the wind has sent them potty.

Mrs Jules is due to land at Manc airport any time now. Bet that's fun

Aye I used to go that to a burgess ceiling tile place. Proper odd place.

Big swingers hotel on one that big long A road through the middle of there and melton mobwray mind.

The "darn sarf" bit is the only reason we know anything about it. I doubt a bit of weather up here would even make local news, never mind national.

True that.

There were thousands of folk affected by flooding on Humberside a few years back and there was cock all in the news and the Government did fuck all

Same year a few farmers get flooded out on the Somerset Levels (which is a fucking flood plain you daft twats) and the media and the politicians were all over it.
