Whites yesterday, coloured today. I think the phrase ‘modern man’ started in the sixties by the way. 😊 I like the fact you only dress in whites, whilst your wife is a flurry of colour. Anyway, the idea of the Modern Man was discusssd by a polish philospher called Brzozowski who died at the turn of the 20th Century. Culturally it can be attributed to any sense of modernity - which reach a populist peak in western culture in the mid to late 60s, which is probably why you're labouring under this slight misapprehension, and actually we're looking at what the post-modern man is. Or Post-post modern man if you like a bit of Devo. Which I do.

If your talking about my wife, well, she’s from Daubhill (she says Morris Green) so I’d be very careful with your careless talk. 😉 We Smithills folk no nothing about wrinkles - or in that fact - people from Daubhill come to that 😊 and of course I would never bismirch your good lady wife.

Not sure what this has to do with the weather by the way.🤷♂️

You probably know nothing about L/H then which is where I was brought up. Do not mess with a L/H Daubhill partnership. 😉

I think it'd hold more weight if you said that you didn't believe we'd actually moved on culturally very much since the end of Modernity which is sort of what you're aiming at. As I say , it's a view. usually however, kept by the slightly unreconstructed.

I've heard dark tales, only whispered in corners of dark pubs of these strange folk being raised on Capstan Navy Cuts, holidaying in Anderson Shelters whilst drinking from puddles. I believe it all to be a myth.

I believe it all to be a myth. Yep. All true. I elevated myself up from that grim existence. Not like the privileged, middle class folk from Smithills and their chocolate medals.😊 I won a prize once. The Hawker Siddley prize for best engineering student across all courses when I did my ONC at Bolton Tech. It was a book token. Bought myself a book on economics. I still have it. Lots of graphs and such.😉 Hows the weather down in the shires?

Not the sort to do that, those sort of folks. Love laugh live BB.

After spending a proportion of my working life doing numerous washes of a variety of samples for the textile industry, I can no longer be arsed separating by material. Just wash at the lowest temp required by whatevet goes in. Anyway, thankfully it is raining significantly.
