Widnes Two Hats
Shit your face, I only do that on my day offs Punk/Synth Britannia is ace, the fact that they've missed The Stranglers is ace. shows that they are a band on their own However, I'd have said that about the Jam and they are on now Whatever, it's brilliant programme making and makes my TV licence worth while

Widnes Two Hats
You see I loved the Clash up until Sandinista but then it became U2ish and not for me, so I agree The Clash by The Clash is supurb, but it's nowhere near Rattus or Black and White, not only musically but the latter where much geniusly clever in which they where unique in the music at the time You see Cassie, it was always more for the thinking man than the obvious, but I comend you for the poorier mans Undertones So I shall congratule you on your tastes on the lower orders of the masterace and leave you to you're bottom feeder music I shall stick to the masterace of the music gods I'm sure you are a king in other things, just not the elixia of the gods
Widnes Two Hats
And I realise my spelling and grammar was shit, but I've been out since 4 And now there is No More Heroes on so perhaps that has just buggared me up But UA records considered them to be the Gretest Band Ever 1977 Anyhow, still the biggest selling punk band ever (if they even where) and that includes the Sex Pistols, Clash, Undertones, etc

Smiley
No chance of The Stranglers being on Episode 3 - 1978-1981? Glad The Damned got a really good mention on Ep1, always think they get seriously over shadowed by Pistols & Clash. Just wondering if the next episode will also touch on Discharge, Subhumans, Blitz, ANL. Guess there'll be mention of Sid's demise as well to consider. Widnes Two Hats
Are you mad 5 Minutes/Nice n Sleazy/Duchess/Nuclear Device Just before Golden Brown And yes, lots of footage of Sidney's demise, is his mum still alive, I'm sure she was the one who supplied the Heroin for his overdose Peter and the test Tube babies and Dead Kennedys and I'm in
Moderators Carlos Posted June 9, 2012 Moderators Share Posted June 9, 2012 Right, I remember punk rock... but I was only 7. I remember the older kids being into it, but that's people only slightly older than me. Did anyone over the age of 20 at the time give a fuck about punk? Given that they'd be 55+ now. Smiley
Dead Kennedys and I'm in Nearly posted that myself - but I realised the clue is in the title. "Punk Britannia".
Burndens Bogs
ok am having a look tell ya what the clash proper band i bet the stranglers wish they could come close Spot on Cas, The Clash were indeed a fcukin fine band from 1976 thru till about 1979. Yeh yeh they went a bit "Hollywood" after that but so did many others - the punk moment was gone after 79 anyway imo.

leigh white
Went watching X-Ray Specs at Belle Vue along with Slaughter and the Dogs, Eater and Johnny Moped at the Live at the Roxy review event in 77, ended up covered in ale, piss and phlegm. A great album for sure, but not a punk album. By the time "London Calling" was released The Clash had lost that raw garage band energy that they had for their first album imo.
