MalcolmW Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Baroness Campbell of Loughbporough (chair of Sport UK) was tipping the women's hockey before the first match. (I remember her as Sue Campbell of Derby Ladies AC and Bedford PE College - in the top 10 UK discus throwers and best all-round thrower, and netball international in the late 60s). Quote

frank_spencer Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Loving that little German in our cycling team singing the national anthem properly. He should teach our kickballers. Perhaps he could teach Wiggins too if we're going down that route. Quote

bolty58 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Warms the cockles.................. http://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/london-olympics/her-royal-hugness-kate-and-wills-pda-is-golden/story-fncw9lxg-1226442049543 ...and the news about the wonderfully eccentric Boris Johnson brightened my day too. The political TV programme down here (Agenda) even commented on our Boris. They reckon he's the only politician who can fall into a river and then dangle from a high wire and his stocks go up! Quote

Guest Frandsen08 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) does one false start not DQ you in the olympics? Edited August 3, 2012 by Frandsen08 Quote
MalcolmW Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 does one false start not DQ you in the olympics? Not in multi-event competitions. In days of old when a second false start was disqualifiable in ordinary racing, two were allowable in multi-events but a third was disqualifiable. The logic may have been because they have 3 trials in long jump or throws. Quote
