Sounds a load of hot air. Why should he want to come from us from Palace?

we may not seem it but we are seen as a big club in the eyes of many clubs in the championship, with superb facilities and set-up etc,not to mention a so called bigger budget, plus he can be in Horwich village in just 2mins by company Lada

HTH

Perhaps we are offering to double his salary?

He's now 4/5 favourite. Anyone have any money on him when he was at 20's?

I put 15 on him at 25/1

I put 25k on him at 40s.

Fuck, I hope my bet comes in now.

a small article in the sunday express says OSG is being lined up as the eventual successor to that red nosed wine loving bastard.

Good,let them take the risk

Lightweight gamble. I put the house, kids and the missus on plus £95k at 50's

Thank you Uncle Phil ; )

I hear Freedman has got the gig.

Looks like I heard correctly. With just 7 months left on his contract the compensation will not be a problem.

when will the yeloow ticker tape appear on SSN?

Dougie Freedman sounds like out the frying pan into the fire to me - if we keep sammy lee I'll feel better I've still no clue who I'd want I think I'd prefer Jimmy over Dougie could work out like Brian McDermott at Reading

No problem if its Dougie, no idea how hes ahead of Hillcroft though.

Fcuk me if we end up with DF, Mick McCarthy must have had a bad interview

I would rather stick with jimmy rather than DF

Oh dear, not another Jimmy Crankey who can't organise a defence for toffee.

I actually agree with a lot of that, but I still can't see it. The only reason I can see him coming is if we're offering him a big, long-term contract and Palace are being backward about coming forward with a new deal.

Still reckon we're being used as a bargaining tool for good terms off Palace.

“@neilashton_: Dougie Freedman's big decision. More on Mail Online shortly.”

Ooooooof isn't it exciting :D

Trouble is the club are not making it easy for any new manager, if its true that gartside wants lee/ phillips etc to remain part of the backroom team. its a difficult one because they probably deserve to.

I think they are worried about a Coyle-style back room team coming in.

Im guessing his ability in his short time at Palace to integrate players from the Academy system into the first team is the main attraction.

Palace's win against us was a fluke, pure and simple.

It wasn't. They had a game plan to defend and hit us on the break. It worked. Our game plan failed miserably by comparison.

It wasn't. They had a game plan.

And we didn't.

I'd like to see the current duo/trio/however many of them there are given a fair crack.

Like the set up going on.

Good blend of experience and ideas between them all attacking and defending wise.

Think it can work well.

Heard somewhere that Jimmy Phillips is the most qualified manager we've ever had. Make of that what you will, but every good manager has to start somewhere. We've got a good squad and I don't see why this can't be the spring block for Jimmy to go places as a manager.

Not even Gartside is that stupid, how can any backroom staff be worse than Coyles stooges.

DF is a good manager and a fantastic coach, i would imagine a lot of folk do not want him due to him flying under the radar with palace and him not getting much attention like mcarthy or even roy keane, it says a lot when one poster on here asks if palace beating us DF biggest achievement ffs!

I'd have him, but i suspect he'll turn us down.
