Ratwhite Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Sounds a load of hot air. Why should he want to come from us from Palace? My thoughts entirely, Palace look a better team (not squad) and look to be on there way already. Why give up that to come North to a club in a slump, with no real money to spend and fans that will jump down down your throat at the first opportunity. In any other line of work it would be a no brainer, for some reason football is different. Quote

Why should he want to come from us from Palace? we may not seem it but we are seen as a big club in the eyes of many clubs in the championship, with superb facilities and set-up etc,not to mention a so called bigger budget, plus he can be in Horwich village in just 2mins by company Lada HTH Quote
Guest Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Perhaps we are offering to double his salary? Quote

no balls Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I put 25k on him at 40s. Fuck, I hope my bet comes in now. Quote
miamiwhite Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 a small article in the sunday express says OSG is being lined up as the eventual successor to that red nosed wine loving bastard. Good, let them take the risk Quote
freds dad Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I put 25k on him at 40s. Fuck, I hope my bet comes in now. Lightweight gamble. I put the house, kids and the missus on plus £95k at 50's Thank you Uncle Phil ; ) Quote
Whites man Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I hear Freedman has got the gig. Looks like I heard correctly. With just 7 months left on his contract the compensation will not be a problem. Quote
superjohnmcginlay Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 when will the yeloow ticker tape appear on SSN? Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Dougie Freedman sounds like out the frying pan into the fire to me - if we keep sammy lee I'll feel better I've still no clue who I'd want I think I'd prefer Jimmy over Dougie could work out like Brian McDermott at Reading Quote
Garrp Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 No problem if its Dougie, no idea how hes ahead of Hillcroft though. Quote
Hutch Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Fcuk me if we end up with DF, Mick McCarthy must have had a bad interview I would rather stick with jimmy rather than DF Quote
passmosster Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Fcuk me if we end up with DF, Mick McCarthy must have had a bad interview I would rather stick with jimmy rather than DF Oh dear, not another Jimmy Crankey who can't organise a defence for toffee. Quote

The only reason I can see him coming is if we're offering him a big, long-term contract and Palace are being backward about coming forward with a new deal. Still reckon we're being used as a bargaining tool for good terms off Palace. Quote
Guest bwfcdan Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 “@neilashton_: Dougie Freedman's big decision. More on Mail Online shortly.” Ooooooof isn't it exciting Quote
onefinfrandsen Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Trouble is the club are not making it easy for any new manager, if its true that gartside wants lee/ phillips etc to remain part of the backroom team. its a difficult one because they probably deserve to. Quote
Guest Blixa Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I think they are worried about a Coyle-style back room team coming in. Quote

HR Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Im guessing his ability in his short time at Palace to integrate players from the Academy system into the first team is the main attraction. Palace's win against us was a fluke, pure and simple. Quote
Guest Blixa Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 It wasn't. They had a game plan to defend and hit us on the break. It worked. Our game plan failed miserably by comparison. Quote
Traf Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 It wasn't. They had a game plan. And we didn't. Quote
matty_bwfc11 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I'd like to see the current duo/trio/however many of them there are given a fair crack. Like the set up going on. Good blend of experience and ideas between them all attacking and defending wise. Think it can work well. Heard somewhere that Jimmy Phillips is the most qualified manager we've ever had. Make of that what you will, but every good manager has to start somewhere. We've got a good squad and I don't see why this can't be the spring block for Jimmy to go places as a manager. Quote
DomRepWanderer Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I think they are worried about a Coyle-style back room team coming in. Not even Gartside is that stupid, how can any backroom staff be worse than Coyles stooges. Quote
Guest Frandsen08 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 DF is a good manager and a fantastic coach, i would imagine a lot of folk do not want him due to him flying under the radar with palace and him not getting much attention like mcarthy or even roy keane, it says a lot when one poster on here asks if palace beating us DF biggest achievement ffs! I'd have him, but i suspect he'll turn us down. Quote
