Parking Tickets

Featured Replies

Got one today, parked on a single yellow.

For all of maybe 3 or 4 minutes.

Well, to be more accurate, the time it took to get out of the car, walk about 50 feet to call the site manager over to open the school gates so I could get on the car park, and walk back.

Walked back to the car and saw it, the yellow and black cancer spread by good for fuck all peados in combat gear who were all clearly bullied at school. Wanker must have been hidden in a bush, perving on the kids I'd suspect.

He got told. Fucking arsehole. Although I did refrain from swearing, what with it being a school and all that.

Anyway, the 'yellow line' is older than mud, it doesnt start right, end right and the bits in the middle has more gaps in it than Scott Greens teeth.

So, knowing it's not a legal line, what does the Chamber of WW think should be the correct response?

I saw one in Stevenage the other week with some sort of camera attached to his shoulder, I presumed it was so that he could film folk giving him abuse

If you chose to fight it.

It could well come down to the magistrate that deals with the case.

Depending on the town depends on how on the ball their parking enforcement bods are.

Must be said, they do a great job in Bolton at keeping folk with money out of the centre.

Is the key bit here.

Take photographs and email them across with the legal case quoted on the website previous, which basically says what the fuck kind of yellow line is this.

Wont go to court - Fact.

Davies v Heatley [1971] R.T.R 145

Because by s.64(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 traffic signs shall be of the size, colour and type prescribed by regulation, if a sign the contravention of which is an offence contrary to s.36 is not as prescribed by the regulation, no offence is committed if the sign is contravened, even if the sign is clearly recognisable to a reasonable man as a sign of that kind.

If you see one of those, shove your finger up your arse and then approach him from behind. Smear shit on his camera lens and then wipe your finger on his beard.

Do you have to pay more if you give notice you're fighting it? If not, there's nothing to lose, is there?

The school might be the tricky bit though. Especially since kids don't seem to know how to cross roads these days.

Edited by no balls

Think when I got one it went up to £90 if you contested it and lost.

Fuckers did me because my front tyre was touching a bus stop zone.

My daughter is a nurse at Wiggin hospital and this morning she was  running a couple of minutes late due to dropping her son off at child minders at 7.00 am and then trying to get to work for 7.30, she parked on the visitors car park and paid for 2 hours intending to move it to the pub car park later [it is cheaper per day than hospital car park]. She came out of work at 8.00pm to find she had a ticket, if she pays within 7 days that will only be £20, if she doesn't the company, which is Legion Group, say they will prosecute, any advice good wwers

Ignore. Not legally enforceable.

They can't prosecute as she hasn't broken any law.

Ignore any letters she gets from them and do not contact them in any way or offer to settle.

Even if they do try to enforce, they can only ask her to pay what she should have done. Just ignore, will cost them more to chase up so doubt they'll bother.

Spot on companies like this rely on people who think its a valid fine. Used to get them every matchday at the Reebok off Euro Car Parks on Tesco - never paid a penny to them. They threatened with bailiffs ets but nothing came of it and that was a good 9-10 years ago.

reet, similar thing

if you're driving along and the sign says in 200 yards, 'restrictions apply' and explains what they are

ie its a bus lane between certain hours

but there are no ways to turn off the road as 'escape routes' are no entry

so further up the road you get another sign saying pretty much, 'pass this sign and you are breaking the law'

you then follow the road to be looking at an enforcement camera

surely, they have to give you a way to avoid entering the restricted area - there is a way but it would mean a u-turn

anybody living in or around reading probably knows about this little beauty
