Pompey

todays news about them possibly going out of the football league is dreadful

on the one hand we have man city and all the money at their disposal and at the other end portsmouth

cant forget the night at the reebok 10 years or more ago when we beat them in a midweek game 4-0 and a few hundred of their fans sang none stop and got a standing ovation by us at the end etc

surely the rest of football/goverment must get to grips with how the game is run

Unlikely whilst Whelan is still with us

A warning for all the cracked twats who think we should spend ten times more than we have on the off chance we might do ok.

Can anyone 'lend' Leeds United £2M?

They are due to pay this month's wages tomorrow.

(no wonder they were demoralised at Bournemouth on Tuesday)

Haven't we already done that?

Remember Leeds fans giving it the biggun at reebok in that first season when went down.

All on the car park singing going down in our faces.

Ha ha

Pompey played AC Milan in the Europa league a few year back, they even took a 1 nil lead, sad times for the Pompey faithful

Haven't we already done that?

What do you think

Well you've had to stump up for that fuckin flag

Pompey's last game of the season is away to Plymouth. One naval base could sink another. Headline writer's dream.

Would love em to go down..20000 watching a conference game

Bristol Rovers, Northampton and Bury in the run-in could be big games.

Relatively speaking.

Lets hope 'Arry can sleep at night

with the likes of sordell, andrews, mears and till recently on our books, Ngog

and given our current "predicament"

aye, it feels like it a bit

Megson and Coyle spent roughly £60 million between them in the transfer market and we'll have got back £15 million to £20 million, maybe not even that much thinking about it. Did we make a profit on any player they bought other than Cahill? Other clubs get teens of millions for young England players we only made about £1 million profit on Cahill because Davies and Gartside cocked it up by letting his contract run down.

Im sure there would have been a profit from Allardyce's signings. His only signing over £5 million was Anelka and we made a £6 million profit on the Elk, then there was the £4 million profit each on Al Habsi and Nolan.

allardyce didn't sign nolan

he did sign meite, faye, okocha, djorkaeff, pedersen, borgetti, davies and millions of others

i don't think we gota fee for any of them

(none of this makes him a poor manager, but ffs. lets have some fcuking balance)

and megson signed some good players

quite a few left us to play, and still play, in the prem

its not his fault we sold badly

We got a fee for Faye, a nice profit on him but a stupid decision to sell him at the time.Another stupid decision for some Megson balance was not selling Mark Davies to Swansea for £5 million if the papers are to be believed. That would have been a Megson profit but again the idiots in charge turned down that much money for an injury prone nearly man.Look how well the plan to have Mark Davies leading us back to the promised land has turned out.

We may as well just all kill ourselves. We're doomed.

Fucking no idea what goes on in some people's heads. Them first.

So we should have sold out best player, just to be able to say that we made a £3m profit? Then when we did everyone would be up in arms complaining at the lack of ambition.

Or we could put him on a 5 year deal, hope that he helps us get back to the premiership and this bring in £60m or whatever it is now and if worst comes to worst sell him in 3 years for I'd guess not much less than this £5m figure you state.

Oh and if you thought that just by him coming back we would suddenly shoot up into the play offs then you're mental, our problems are far too big for 1 returning player to turn it all around. I'm just happy to see him back playing, 9 times out of 10 he's a class above the other 21 players on the pitch.
