So, what day have you got me tickets for?

Clubs are paired for fixtures within a division.

This year for Boltonthat is with Doncaster.

There are also cross-divisional arrangements, so that SheffWed and SheffU are not home together.

Last season Bolton and wigan were arranged like that.

For the previous 6 seasons we were paired with Wigan.

This year both are home on 24 Aug and 11 and 25 Jan (and would be on 10 Aug but for the fact Wigan have a friendly the next day).

Is the pairing not to do with policing? We were always paired with Bury in the 70s/80s so that GMP were never overstretched.

The Police do have input - and would not be over-ruled.

Clearly they would not agree to the 2 Manc clubs playing at home together, and would not have allowed Bolton and Wigan to do so in the wotsits Premier League. That it is happening on a small scale in the Championship is presumably because of the lack of a crowd at the DW.

There is a much bigger overlap of Bolton and Blackburn, as usual, but of course that involves 2 separate police forces.

Nottingham station is closed on the weekend we play down there too by the way - have to divert to East Midlands Parkway and get a rail replacement into town.

Just been looking at that - a right ball ache. Looks like either get to Derby and get a bus or get to East Midlands Parkway and a bus (about £13 more expensive though !!)

Takes a lot longer on the way home as well.

Anyone got any other alternative stations to go to on the train ?

You could try Long Eaton, but tbh the bus connections are probably better from Derby/EMP.

go in the car like last year Marple...

The Nottingham game problem is a right hassle for Th'East Midlands Whites.

Instead of 15 mins on the train it's going to be 30 mins on the bus.

Bastards

Railcard, well worth the money!

There are some cheap non-railcard tickets available on Trainline at the moment for £13 return but you have to get trains at set times:

10:39 - 12:57 Manc to Notts (bus from Alfreton to Notts) £8

18:48 - 21:32 Notts to Manc (bus from Notts to East Mids Parkway) £5
