gonzo
And looking at the records the earliest we started a season was straight after the war...05/01/1946 Or would that be deemed as late?? Why am I sat trawling through Bolton season records from the 1900's?? What a loser.

Guest
Incorrect Ian Callaghan In the 1976–77 season, during which he reached the age of 35, Callaghan was awarded a third and fourth, and final, England caps, having made his international debut on 26 June 1966 in Helsinki against Finland and won his second during the 1966 World Cup. The gap of 11 years 49 days, and 108 internationals, between Callaghans's second and third caps are both records for an England player. He was the last member of the 1966 World Cup winning squad to appear for England.
