We place a lot of national newspaper adverts for a couple of clients. Most newspapers have automated FTP systems were we can upload adverts directly to them and we get charged anything from £3-£5 per ad. Nothing too heavy as the clients are probably paying anything up to £10K for the placing anyway.
However, the Daily Express will only allow adverts to be supplied to them via a 3rd party repro house in London.
They charge anything between £117-£324 just to receive our email containing a PDF. Check its suitability for print and then sending this onto the publication. This process takes minutes. Nothing more, nothing less. So how the fuck they can charge these fees is a total scam!
They are worse than solicitors and that is a hard act to beat.
