You can get any train down with those £38.25 specials, it's just that you haven't got a reserved seat on other trains. It's an open return. Having a quick look this morning it seemed like they were only still available on 05-55 & 06-10 trains, but i definitely could be wrong. You've no problem getting the train to & from St Pancras because you'd be covered by your travelcard at least as far as London Bridge anyway.
