Where were you when you were shiite

  • Regarding feet, if someone's just come out of the toilet having had a massive, messy dump that's taken half of a toilet roll and five moist wipes to clean up, you'd be disgusted if they didn't wash th

You can be as saddened as you want but frankly I'd say anyone who's life is dictated to in that manner by having to pray at a certain time needs a shake.

This is clearly a wider discussion which I can't be arsed having seeing as I'm clearly now some fascist for daring to question

The way I see it is you're saying they're wrong.

Me?  I'm saying they just have different beliefs to me and it's not my place to tell them they "need a shake".

What next huddles of worshipers gathered in Morrisons because the time of prayer coincided with their big shop?

No you're e right Daz,they aren't causing any harm,but all I ask is why?

Why make a public show during a football game?

Do they actually have to pray at bang on 6pm?

It's not about being offended,it's about this lot deeming to appropriate to gather in a huddle and worship in the middle of a football game attended by 35,000 people.

Go somewhere else and do it if you need to...simples.

I'm Sure the club would have provided a room for them if they had contacted the club and explained their need pray at 6pm before the game.

Meh, if people want to go and pray during a match then it's no business of anybody else's. I find all religion absurd but they're doing nobody any harm, not like they're doing it on the bloody pitch is it?

edit: Yeh, I'm pretty sure they do have to pray at certain times. Daft as it is, that's what they believe

As long as it's not in front of the whoopsies section then I can't see a problem.

I have been in many taxis and curry houses at 6pm and they have never stopped to pray

Prayer times move don't they?  Besides, for all the ones you see not praying I'd suggest there are a lot more that do ... but you won't see them because they're probably praying somewhere.

I have little doubt there were Muslims up in the stands who chose not to pray.

Does it matter?  Surely it's their choice and their right to choose to do so.

I believe certain activities can be excused, such as working; that would explain that

I don't like religion and I think that is a particularly daft one. However, if they're not harming anyone I don't think it matters to be honest

Maybe we could go down the local mosque for a kick about?

"Get your face out for the lads"

"You're going home on a carpet"

My religion is football so i wonder if i popped down the the local mosque at the bottom of Chorley Old Rd and asked them to fit a big telly in the corner so i could watch the Sky Sunday games they would ablige, i fucking don't think so

Observe your religion as much as you want, in an appropriate place.

A football ground is not an appropriate place, neither is the whoopsie, or any other, aisle of Morrisons for that matter.

What about christians who wish to wear a cross and have a christmas tree up at work, however there are numerous occasions where this is cited as being inappropriate as it 'may' offend other religions. What's the difference? It has obviously offended some other supporters who were at the match.

This is the take on the story from 'Logical Reasoning Weekly'...

"Group of simpletons seek to enrage the simple-minded - achieve task."

Edit: That was a direct quote btw, don't shoot the Messenger (p.b.u.h.)

I might organise a coach trip from the V there for our next Bolton live game i think they would welcome us with open arms don't you

Fair play to West Ham for trying to build links with local communities - but surely they are culturally sensitive enough to the views some of their own supporters to anticipate that prayers under the stand might provoke a reaction?

West Ham are a club who's majority of supporters are white, working class men.  Rightly or wrongly - these white, working class men probably feel like their way of life is gradually being eroded.  The football is one of the last bastions where they can express themselves.  I'm not surprised by the reaction.  I'm not excusing it, but I'm not surprised.

I reckon Youri would start a Jihad!

Nah, I'd just walk over to have a gander at the reduced pork-products in the special, separate 'kuffar' Whoopsies section near the milk. :)

Is this not like 'Sunday School' doing trips to Alton Towers? Sort of a reverse aversion-therapy, trying to sweeten the pill of their brainwashing nonsense?

Looks to me like they've sloped off to as quiet a corner as they could find. Then the meatheads see them.

Ask the club for a room? Aye we'll have your free tickets on the proviso that you provide us with a room to pray in. Folk would be having kittens on here if that was the story.
