1-1 as the grumpy cunts that reside at the Reebok decide moaning and heckling is better than supporting the team.

Will be the smallest away following this season, they won't bring more than 300.   We'll win 3-1.

I know it's been mentioned, but I seriously couldn't make out what was going on in the box yesterday thanks to the flashy hoardings.

Who do I write to?

It's not as simple as that though

Even though yesterday it came of for us, it's conceivable that by going to 5 at the back we are "more" likely to concede, as in doing so we concede ground and possession.

I certainly believe that to be the case with the way it was yesterday even though we got the 3rd

It also uses up a valuable substitution, which nearly backfired as we were essentially down to 10 men for the last few minutes with McNaughton unable to run

So, for the right reasons maybe, but it doesn't mean we have to agree with it

The defensive mindset has failed more often than it has worked this season

Not convinced with Dougie in the 90 minutes.

He can sign decent players (Moritz looks very interesting), but his overall negativity is, in my view, out of context with the squad he has, which should have secured many more points so far. The best way to defend a lead is to play higher up the park and he has the players to do it.

His obsession with minimising risk/goals has cost us.

It amuses that he doesn't consider Mears a right back for Bolton, but might have to bring him back.

spot on. Why are some fans are wanking themselves over a couple of wins? We have good player's at this level. I wish he'd let them off the leash a bit. We should be higher up the league. Hes cost us points. Thats not being negative, its about being positive. We've got the players, they were shite! But its a win.

In all 3 of our wins this season he's brought on Knight to see out the game.

So I'd stick with it if I was doogie

Going 5-4-1 at home in order to hang on to a 2-1 lead against an average (I'm being generous) Millwall is negative. It wasn't fookin Chelsea !

It worked. We got the win. I'm hoping this desperate pack-back-into-our-area approach is a temporary get-the-monkey-off-our-backs tactic. We now have a home win, we're away from the bottom 3, let's be more positive. We have the attcking players to terrorise most of this division.

DF should be judged on the impact of his decisions. He changed the formation as they were lumping the ball forward. It made us solid and gave meant the other players could keep a threat up front leading to the third goal.

Remember west brim at home? We were holding on and coyle bought CYL on. What happened next ?

I forgot to mention another positive yesterday.

McNaughton, siver fox  :give_rose:

Bet you £20 we do

69/11 for a top 6 finish.

125/1 to win the league

18/1 to be promoted

Put your £20 on one of these.

DF should be judged on all of his decisions of course. Ultimately we're 17th in the league, but improving.

Make of that what you will, but if we "have" to go to 5 at the back to defend a lead:

1) that's worrying in itself

2) it will backfire against someone if we keep doing it

I've never heard of anyone else that has regularly done it, if at all

He didn't do it last season either

And the added bonus he's the right size for you to plant a kiss right on his smacker.

18s looks attractive.

Why are people complaining that we went to a back five to see it out, it worked, we won, enjoy it, COYWM

As we gain points and confidence I'd expect freedman to throw another attacker on instead its just a reflection of where we currently are.

5 foot 10 and a quarter.  The perfect height.  :D

I think you're right Mounts, but it almost adds to that air of desperation sometimes

I have no issue with Knight being on to deal with balls in the air in principle but I stand by the fact that we are still potentially more likely to concede than had we stuck with 4 at the back. Traditionally teams that so well by inviting the opposition on to them are actually ones who can defend well, not be other way around!

We'll see anyway

It doesn't mean I'm unhappy with 3 points either

Me neither

But we have lost more points this season after being ahead

His reflex response is to go defensive and drop deeper every time we go in front.

Sometimes it has worked; mostly, this season, it hasn't

Unless he can overcome this, we are going nowhere. In my view.

We are on football league show at 30.22

But where we currently are is a reflection of his tactics so far isn't it?

I think knight was brought on to help defend set pieces. They weren't causing too much trouble with long balls but they were getting corners and that was their main threat.

To me it was logical at the time because they had just put another striker on and were having their best spell of the game.

See the way I look at it is...

We have been playing pretty poorly, but not getting beat.

We were desperately unlucky not to beat yeovil Blackpool and Sheffield weds...only own goals, freak occurrences and the woodwork stopped us in doing so.

Taking £20 off Jules is easy money IMO

Gonzo-not getting carried away at all...haha

Me neither

This! Hes far too negative. We have quality. They were cack. Trying to defend a 1 goal lead will cost us.

But where we currently are is a reflection of his tactics so far isn't it?

Quite possibly but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say its because he's finally kicked the shirkers out of the team and brought in some motivated and determined individuals who want to succeed with BWFC. Oh and Bogdan getting injured has helped as well.

You know someone's 5 foot 8 when they add a quarter to 5 foot 10. :)

FFS, I came on expecting some optimism.

Never fucking happy Bolton fans. I know one thing, I'll take this home result over any previous one this season.
