They got a chance because it was a friendly, they're not in the same excitement or gifted league as Townsend, so I doubt the type of player they are would start a meaningful game and if we didn't have injuries. If you see their game offering something to England, then who would they replace and what would they offer that the person they would replace won't? FWIW Lallana at least tried things and could have got a couple, JR did nothing. Doesn't make them rubbish, just didn't see anything that impressed me, I don't see them having an international career unless of a lot of injuries, just like I didn't when K.Davies got his 1 cap.
