When your kids are ill...

 

Little lad has got what appears to be this norro virus (excuse spelling if incorrect)

 

Up all night writhing round holding his stomach,throwing up all over the gaff every 5 minutes.

 

First time he's been properly ill this.

 

Poor little bastard hasn't a clue what's going on.

My lads poorly at the minute, but never mind that poor little fucker, far more importantly, so am I.

 

I was looking up 1 way flights to Switzerland last night.

Its shit. Worse bit is not being able to swap the pain for them; you'd put up with anything if you're kids didn't have to.

 

But...

 

How many of you are less fussy with you're second?

 

I'm pretty sure the youngest would hobble in on one leg whilst holding the other in her hand and she'd get told to just stick a plaster on it and carry on playing.

My best bit of last night was sticking him in bed with us at about 4am to settle him down and everything seeming ok.

 

Until out of nowhere he spewed up all over our faces.

 

Then in the ensuing pandemonium the dog leaped on the bed trying to eat the sick.

All this "i wish it was me" is a load of bollocks, they're just after sympathy and a new x box 1 for christmas

And it's possibly slightly selfish, but we feel bad ourselves because we're not able to make things right. Our male ego kicks in and we feel the urge to be the typical defender of the family thing, but we're as much use as a damp flannel when kids are ill: women are better at dealing with it.

 

And it doesn't get any better when they're older, they're still your kids. Our eldest (25) is in Wythenshawe Hospital having the most awfully complicated pregnancy you could imagine and it's just killing me standing by and watching her suffer.

Nothing worse mate, eldest was in hospital for 3 nights with Bronchiolitus at 6 weeks old

Youngest has had the Norovirus Twice

When you see his video collection, sterilising the dog is the least of its worries.
