Mavies and pratley were the wrong way round surely, but I guess mavies is deeper to go a fetch the ball but if we keep pumping in go diagonally, what's the point?

Much of this has been said already, but, to get it off my chest, 

Why take the scorers of the 3 goals on Sunday out and go back to what was virtually the set up that made heavy weather of beating the bottom team the game before?

Why persevere with one up top at home (or away) when that one, whichever it is, is incapable of holding up the ball, bringing people into play and occupying defenders enough to put them under any degree of pressure.

We will not make any progress in this Division when our wide players are shit-scared lightweights who offer no help whatsoever to their full-back when they lose the ball (which is far too often)

The second goal was more Lonergan's fault than Knight's, he was waving Lonergan to stay put to give him space to knock it back to him or out for a throw / corner. Lonergan ignored him and kept going, similar to Joe Hart in the game v Chelsea

The booing of Knight after that was a disgrace, those who did, fuck off, we don't need your money even at £163m in debt, well done to those who drowned it out.

Freedman isn't getting the best out of Mavies, playing him too deep to have the impact we know he can have, leave Spearing to be the water carrier, all he's good for at £20k a week

We are not going to be sacking freedman as we can not afford to but eventually he has to ask himself the question am I the right man for the job. I fear he may stick around a bit longer than he is still welcome.

 

Given the matches coming up we may well be looking at a fare few defeats coming our way. I see it as unlikely everything will be rosy so will likely be the case that either he will be leaving with some dignity in tact or that the bed sheets will be out in force.

His contract ends in the summer so just let him go then if needs be and never let him put on a white shirt again. 1) Knight will not lower his wage demands, if anything on a free transfer he'll ask for more.

2) Cancelling his contract costs money.

3) He will NOT lower himself to play in League 1 or League 2. I believe this is the obvious thing you're missing that Casino was talking about.

4) He actually has played pretty well recently apart from the one and a half mistakes he made today.

 

Sorry Cas, I bit. I really can't be sure that he's not that dumb though.

There's a section of our support who know nothing but the Premier League or have forgotten the years previous. They also think we should be back there and at the top of this table in the meantime.

 

They don't understand we aren't the best of the bunch and we don't have the finances to change things or the ability to get shut of certain high earners.

 

This means they get frustrated that we're not turning over teams who are cannier about this division that our lot.

 

So they get frustrated and boo.

Not just tactics and formation; also personnel and motivation

 

Mistakes are made more when players aren't comfortable - that can be down to the situation but also an unsettled team and in a macro sense because we're not comfortable in the games generally.....which comes down to tactics, formation, selection etc etc

 

So, our goals were 2 great strikes
