onlyoneawalker Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Who funds a keeper. Go with loners lee Barrett and the new kid - appreciate there are some who rate bogdan massively over loners I'm not one of em he's dispensable for me in order to strengthen elsewhere Quote
Guest bwfcdan Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Lee-Barrett has gone. Personally I don't mind if we sell Bogdan, as long as his replacement is good enough. As for Lonergan, don't rate him. Never have. Quote

What's the point in selling him if we require an equally adept replacement I'd guess that would hardly be guaranteed unless we spent the money received If DF can work a miracle and get good money for him and a cheaper replacement that's good enough then of course, but to be fair that's asking alot. We currently have a decent no 1 and IMO a good enough no 2....so unless we are desperate, why change it? Quote

We don't want to be changing too much at once as well imo so no point selling just to replace etc. I think we should stick with the keepers we have. We just need to sort out the Juke and Mason and I will be happy with what we have got. Quote

If the offers good enough, and if we can find a suitable replacement (emphasis on 'if'), then I'm happy to sell him. The money generated could potentially get us another player in. I'm not particularly arsed though if we keep him, I like Bogdan. Think he's a decent keeper. Quote
glossopWANDERER Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Would you sell bogdan for a say 1 - 1.5 million then take a number 2/3 premier league goalkeeper on a minimal fee. For example possibly jussi back from wet spam. Quote

Guest bwfcdan Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 (edited) Speroni at Palace is looking for guaranteed first team football. Dougie may look there. Edit - He's out of contract. Edited July 3, 2014 by bwfcdan Quote

SUMiXAM Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I'd like to just reiterate what I have already said. There has been no bid received for bogdan and he is not for sale, I'm told he's expected to sign a new deal before the season starts. Quote

glossopWANDERER Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Minimal fee + massive wages = No thanks. I was only using it as a possible example not a lets go out and do it statement. my point is that we could probably sell bogdan for a good fee and bring someone in with good experience on a small fee that would be looking to actually play football in the last few years of their career rather than warm the bench Quote

Any extra we have made gets swallowed by his wages so whats the point? 2 years down the line when old fucker keeper retires/isn't good enough we are miles worse off as we need a new keeper. I cant see any good points in the example at all. Quote
Plums Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 The facts are Bogdans contract is running out. He may sign another within six months. I'd guess he's watching how we fare? Gamble Quote

DazBob Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Just make Bogdan sign a new contract but on lower wages. Can't believe it's not already been suggested. Quote
