Not posted on here for a while, as my son is in the u18s. Just to let you know Jules has been absolutely brilliant with these lads for last few years. They're a talented bunch, but Jules has brought t

  • Flippin well done Jules.

  • They are way way off, and its even harder now than its ever been. They play against really low level and some are barely academies, due to all these Catagories etc. To jump from playing low

Didn't know where else to post this.

Noticed this thread started in 2014, so went back to look at the U18 team that day.

Jaaskelainen, Spooner, Garratt, Honeyball, Phillips, Nolan, Palmer (Griffiths), Abbotts, Elumba (White), Thomas (Kennedy), Mells

How many of them are still playing? Will Jaaskelainen is in non-league. Is Phillips Jimmy's son (now at Derby apparently). Any others? Shows how big the jump is to mens football!

Anyway, well done to our current crop!

but, but... were in Greater Manchester... 💣

im guessing 1,2 and 5 had family ties

3 fucked us off for doncaster having played first team, now in gibraltar

Elumba left us, to Chorley. Had a time out, joined Lancaster & now out for 3 seasons.

Tempus fugit. Julian Darby is the last Academy graduate to score10 or more league goals in a season.

I think he scored 2 at Swansea. I was sitting in the stand near his family who were big supporters.

Oh this old bloke ran up the steps to his seat at the start of the second half. I think it was Tommy Banks.

Clough came close with 9 in half a season in L1

As did Nolan over a full as PL season

Not bad given neither are strikers

Posted something on a thread a few days ago about the academy/ B team

They've done exceptionally well this season.

Odd we sign Etete and these kids don't get a look in.

Would love to see some get the chance ... even as back up.

If anything ... can't be much worse than the shite displays we've seen from some of our 1st team.

I can understand the point of view and Etete clearly isn't the answer, but there's a huge difference between U18s football and senior football

Lewis has only just made his debut for the B Team so let's allow him and others the time to develop their game first

I got the chance to talk to lattrell about 6-12 months back

Hes never been near a pro club before and even playing 11 a side was new to him

From north london and couldnt say enough good things about santos

Shame you need to bring some reality into the convo

But, i wouldnt mind giving a few 30 minutes in the next 2 games

Show them/us how far away they are/not

Like i say, i think daeshon is next in line
