Elson Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I think they just have to win 2 out of 3 games so they can lose to Barca, if they did that and Real won all they would be level on points but have a better head to head. or I maybe complete wrong, where's Malcolm when you need him. Quote
Carlos Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 That's what the BBC said but Atletico and Barca have played 36, ergo they only have 2 games left, one away at the Camp Nou. Barca are 3 points behind and lost 1-0 in Madrid. Quote
Elson Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 (edited) So if Barca best them they can win it? Don't know what the result of the first game was between them. But if Barca win it may hand the title to Real who could go and win all 4 games. Edit the first game ended 0-0 Edited May 4, 2014 by Elson Quote
Carlos Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 (edited) Oh aye, I picked out the Bilboa result. So a win for Barcelona should do it? Real Madrid 0-1 Atlético Madrid Atlético Madrid 2-2 Real Madrid Atlético Madrid 0-0 Barcelona Real Madrid 3-4 Barcelona Barcelona 2-1 Real Madrid Edited May 4, 2014 by Carlos Quote
Didledee Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Barca don't deserve to win it but Atletico may have blew it now. Quote
Carlos Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Barcelona are 12.0 on Betfair, Real are 1.7. Based on my maths, and reading Wikipaedo, I don't see how Real can win unless they win all 4 games. Quote

Today's loss means they can't lose to Barca as well (unless Barca have a worse result away to Elche than Atletico get at home to Malaga). Real just have to keep winning and hope that the BvAM match is drawn. Sunderland v West Brom could be interesting on Wednesday - a draw is certainly enough for West Brom to survive, and, because of the massive goal difference swing required on one pair of matches, It would suffice for Sunderland too. Yes they must and it's still very much in Atletico's hands, Real have Valencia tonight who beat Barca 3-2 at the Nou Camp, although losing out on a Europa League final in the last minute may have shattered Valencia. Didledee Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 (edited) Barca will beat Felche. Not confident they will, lost to teams currently below Elche like Valladolid and Granada Edited May 4, 2014 by Didledee Quote

MalcolmW Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 But Madrid can't be 1.7. Garp, Traf? The odds for tonight look strange to me. 1/7 against a team in the top half of the table. And 1/4 for Wednesday at Vallidolid, who are in a relegation scrap (what odds were MU at home to Sunderland?). Quote
Traf Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 3/1 now for Madrid, but 1.7 was ridiculous. Sheer weight of money rather than actual chance. Quote
Traf Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Glad I wasn't going mad, easy money. As you well know from past experience, the lay was the only bet there. Quote

COYW Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 But they were named after Athletic Bilbao, hence the red and white stripes. Athletic Bilbao were given their first set of shirts by Sunderland which is why they play in red and white stripes and why they use the English spelling of 'Athletic' rather than the Spanish, 'Atletico'.
