I've vague memories of a shootout at Reebok in the League Cup around the time Les Ferdinand was here. Spurs or Southampton maybe? Could be wrong but I'm sure it went to ET.

Meanwhile, I'm hearing some bright spark has come up with the idea of having England v Turkey at Etihad on May 22. Have we played them at home since that peaceful little affair at Sunderland in 2003?

Remember a shootout in our first season at the Reebok against Leyton Orient, possibly in the League Cup. Full time score was 4-4, and I remember there being a shit load of penalties. We won, but no idea what score. What stands out more in my memory of that game is a woman sat a couple of rows behind me got the ball smashed right into her face, which broke her glasses and bust her nose.

We lost a third round tie against Spurs in 2004/05. 2-2 at 90 minutes, 3-4 after extra time.

It was the night Fadiga had his bad do in the warm-up.

The second leg finished 4-4 but our 3-1 win in the first leg meant penalties weren't required.

Ahh that'll be the one, used to enjoy our Worthington/Carling Cup early round games.

I'd forgotten about that Tranmere one, dear me

Are you sure? Definitely remember a shootout.

Edit: You're right. My memory is fucked.

120 mins of freezing cold 0-0 shite

Defraitas took a terrible pen which the Bryan gunn pretty much lent down and waited for

But no one was arsed as it meant we could go home

Think Curcic missed one too.

Remember a belter at Bury when Branigan saved 3.

Good point. I think I'll call it a night. I haven't even had a drink since dinner time.  :shok:
