Very in

not been to one for a few years or more, before that we used to have open house  with 60 to 80 neighbours and friends on the nearest sat before or after, with bbq's and open fires on the go, black peas, parkin, potato pie, red cabbage and bonfire toffee. Drunken dads bringing and setting off their fireworks and putting air bombs in pumpkins.

After doing this for 10 years i woke up one morning after the night before and wondered how the fuck no one had been injured and that it were only a matter of time and odds. twas time to stop.

I didn't bother with any. Pity I couldn't find something proper to do like we had back in 1985 when Darlington came to Burnden

The best bit of bonfire was always collecting the wood or more accurately planning a late night raid on the gang down the road nicking there wood, so it's been a long time since I did that and actually enjoyed bonfire night so I'm in.

Why is it called 'bommy night' when its BoNfire night ??
