Thanks for posting that, Burnden. What a lovely tribute. I'm sorry I couldn't be there on Tuesday. It makes you think, if you didn't know it already, what history we have and how many great players and people have worn the shirt. And I love that it still means so much to them, even 60 years on. Once a Wanderer, always a Wanderer. RIP Roy, gone but never forgotten.

Brilliant Burnden. Few bits of dust here at the moment - can hardly see the screen.

If that doesn't make you proud to be a Wanderer, nothing will.

Did I hear right that Wyn Davies stayed in Bolton and lives there? Will have to watch it again when the fog clears.

Supah Coopah! Wouldn't have recognised him! Syd Farrimond and Shire instantly recognisable though.

RIP Roy. Never forgotten.

So they bring Tommy Banks over at the end and don't interview him....maybe as he might have needed sub tittles as he tawks reet proper....lovely to see The King there paying his respects, and yes Bolty Wyn has lived back in Bolton for years, just wish he would get a new coat, he always has that Primarni Classic outerwear on, Warwick Rimmer looks more like Omar Sherif every time I see him, and the last time I talked to Supa Coopa he had a little tuff left on top.....almost 50 years later and I'm still pissed off that we sold Dave Hatton to Blackpool !!

Cheers S. Aye, I wasn't happy with the Hatton transfer at the time either.

Was nice to see Greavo in that clip also.

There was a very moving speech by his son Russ. I don't seem to be able to post links or quote on here anymore, but it's available on the BN site.

I've never seen Wyn Davies without a mac off the pitch. It's because he comes from Caernarvon where it rains a lot. About 1976, I sat down on a train going to Crewe at Manchester Piccadilly station and to my surprise Wyn was sat opposite me complete with mac. He was playing for Crewe at the end of his career and went down from Bolton by train because he didn't have a car. Interesting to hear that his English wasn't very good when he came to Bolton. He had played for Wrexham which was welsh speaking at the time and spoke at best broken English. Seems incredible nowadays.

I don't think I've ever seen anybody jump higher to head a ball. I think that he stayed in Bolton and worked at Warburton's Bakery when his playing career finished.

Joe Dean and Charlie Cooper must have played in the Reserves for the best part of 10 years which also seems incredible nowadays. Dean was no mean keeper and a youth international.
