Was a talk at work on Friday, just about Perry Barr a small area, a few miles outside Birmingham city centre, just listed the number of men that died in WW one that day 100 years ago, was 9 from Perry Barr alone that one day.

100 in total during that war, just from that tiny area. At the end they listed the names and roads they lived on. The scale of it all started to sink in.

Apparently only 40 of the 19,600 villages that sent men, had everyone return. RIP

Its events like this that make you realise what a fantastic country we live in. I don't think any other nation can do things like this as good as we do.

Everyone should have the utmost respect for everyone who is serving or has served in our armed forces.

Watched the service last night at the Royal Albert Hall, and now the one at the Cenotaph lead by Her Majesty.

Nothing but total respect for all of them, never been prouder to be British.

We will never forget them.

other thing that crossed my mind is how lucky we are to have been born in the second half of the 20th century

if id been born in 1900 i'd have lived through 2 world wars by now and very possibly not survived

If you had been born in 1900 you would more than likely be dead.

But if you had, you would have seen us win the FA Cup three times before your 30th birthday. Every cloud...

Duxford was a good place to spend Remembrance Sunday. Made poppies with the kids, had a display from a Spitfire and got to see The Forgotten War display which was about Burma where my Grandpa as a POW.

Loads of bikers - didn't realise that a lot of ex-servicemen seem to join Hell's Angels Chapters.

Cannons at the castle either side of the silence & the whole town stopped. Quite moving

I was on a housing scheme in Bispham.

Top credit to all the crack addicts that honoured the silence impeccably by staying in bed.

I'm near Albert Square, they let off a cannon or something that you can't miss. Looking out of the window, I reckon that 50% of people just ignored it and carried on doing whatever they were doing, TNT van carried on, dickheads still trying to get on to the bus where the driver had stopped for 2 minutes...
