December 15, 201411 yr Coaches at the club speak highly of Zac Clough, maybe he will get a start sooner than anticipated. This. He was fantastic the other night for the reserves. Has a real look of Mavies but more mobile and hopefully not injury prone.
December 15, 201411 yr Author Coaches at the club speak highly of Zac Clough, maybe he will get a start sooner than anticipated. I watched him on the training video last week he looked very sharp I think there a good chance he will soon get his chance. Technically he's far and away the best in the reserves and not many better in the full squad.
December 15, 201411 yr Being groomed as a midfielder though rather than chucking him in as a striker.

December 15, 201411 yr Being groomed as a midfielder though rather than chucking him in as a striker. Good, we are short of midfielders.
December 15, 201411 yr Four replies. Expected it much sooner. Couldn't belive it myself. Happy to oblige ???? Very noticeable and good to see that despite the striker shortage there is no talk of recalling Beckford
December 15, 201411 yr Clough not a bad shout.. Depends entirely on what formation we're likely to play for me and who will be upfront, if it's Davies and we're playing wide men then giving Hall a run out and having Kellett on the bench is the answer for me. If it's Wilkinson for a few weeks it'll have to be someone to partner him and make runs and draw some pressure away, Eidur or Clough then? But it's a pretty soft partnership
December 15, 201411 yr i notice clough wasnt in the u21 squad tonight. likely to be in fridays squad , can he play on the left ?
December 15, 201411 yr Whenever I've seen Clough, he's somehow reminded me of David Speedie. A little guy who whizzes around at a great rate of knots. He's no one man up striker, but might be useful playing off Craig Davies.
December 15, 201411 yr I don't think I've seen a player compared to David Speedie before Edited December 15, 201411 yr by superjohnmcginlay

December 15, 201411 yr kellets loan has been extended Well shit... Think he can do a job in this league already, Hall wide left for me then if Davies is back soon, Eidur with Wilkinson if not
December 15, 201411 yr Well shit... Think he can do a job in this league already, Hall wide left for me then if Davies is back soon, Eidur with Wilkinson if not the people that matter seem to think differently
December 16, 201411 yr the people that matter seem to think differently I'd say it's more of a physical attributes thing that's holding him back rather than a question of ability, which is fair enough I suppose for now because he is tiny
December 16, 201411 yr Didn't Clough have a nightmare on loan at Carlisle or did I imagine that? Mind you, Nigel Jemson looked like the worst player ever for us some years back, then went on to do well at a higher level. So miracles can happen. Not often though.
December 16, 201411 yr It was the Bulgarian who was crap at Carlisle - Illiev Ah, that's the one. Half paying attention as usual...
