One thing to come out of all this, is that "non muslims" are becoming more aware of the Islamic takeover bid.

Our tolerance could well bite us on the arse.

This is it. The reluctance to infiltrate the fundamentalists through fear of offending the moderates is hopefully disappearing. I really fucking hope we start cracking down on the likes of Anjim Choudary.

Half a story Harry.

Chocolate and peados

And they only invented the chocolate to get to the kids

There's a lot of em about.

we agree then that it's an excellent read, very informative, but I think we take 2 different messages from it, i.e. just what these sides are

as it says in the article:

"As poll after poll tells us, the vast majority of British Muslims reject radical views. They support a mixed, plural society."

I believe i'm firmly "off the tit" and i see the sides as follows:

non-muslims

the vast marjoity of british muslims

-----------------------------------------------------------

extremists willing to do something about it

correct me if i'm wrong, but I think you, and others, see the line in the sand as being

non-muslims

-----------------------------------------------------------
muslims

now, personally, there's nothing I can do to make the opposite side of my line go away other than be aware that there is that line, and allow those who do want to integrate do just that, and make my side of the line stronger

so what are you doing now you've chose your side, whatever that might be, to work towards these situations not re-occuring or are you, as you say a "fearful types hope will just go away whilst they close their eyes and grip their security blankets"

because if you're not doing anything other than saying the same thing other and other, it appears your in that bracket, to me

i'm not fearful and i think my approach to this situation is constructive

because as it says:

"if social cohesion falls and divisions between Muslims and non-Muslims rise, that presents a longer-term risk to security"

so what are you doing to attempt to improve the situation?

if i've misread what i think about where your line is drawn, i apologise in advance, and it's certainly not a veiled pop at racism or something, but i genuinely want to know how you expect to proceed with all of this, now you've decided which side you're on

if this makes me a bedwetter or an apologist so be it (and get fucked), i'm sure there's plenty we do agree on at the end of the day

Getting monotonous seeing the plus 1's amassing for both sides of the argument. This just goes to show that we will get as far with this is we do with our disagreement over the Israel/Palestine thing. We are probably just pissing in the wind even attempting to discuss it. Opinions are too polarised.

I see the Pope has uttered some (typical) garbage on the subject of free speech today along the lines of 'you shouldn't make fun of religion'. I wonder if he'll make that number one above 'thou shalt not use contraception'? We are really going to listen to some fucker in his slippers and pyjamas who heads an organisation which systematically tortured and murdered all opposition from the 1400's through to the 1800's and, it appears, has always had a penchant for paedophilia.

I can seriously see civil war on the streets of Europe within 20 years (including the UK). It is to this I refer when I use words like 'which side you are on' and 'time to choose'. I hope I am wrong. If it does happen, it will be interesting to see how the 'moderates' align themselves. Will common sense prevail or will they follow the teachings of the Qu'ran in relation to wiping out all kuffars?

Winston saw the dark clouds of National Socialism forming way ahead of everyone else. I wish he was still around.

So when this civil war starts will you be coming home to serve in a scooter battalion in a Dad's Army ?

Joking apart, i think boltys right regarding the civil war, but i fear we could have 20+ years of cowardly slaying of innocent people on an increasingly regular basis first.

I don't agree with this grim air of inevitability everybody seems to be expressing. There's lots that can be done to avert it with enough will and courage on both sides.

Ok, just think back 15 years or so, how often did you here the words "Jihad" or " islamic terrorist attack" or "radicalised muslims "?  Nowadays these words are on the news on a daily basis. These fcukers have upped their game since 9/11 and anyone who can't see which direction this is heading, are just burying their heads in the sand imo.

Banning religion? :)

Banning religion? :)

Fuck me can you imagine the shitstorm? I'm happy with promoting science and rationalism entering any conversation with a religious type with the caveat that we believe they are demonstrably talking utter nonsense! :-)

And why do we feel the need to ask their opinion about moral issues?

If you think about 15-20 years did anyone see an end to the activities of the IRA ?

The idea that terrorists threats are new is not true, ETA in the Basque regions of France and Spain is another example.

The different thing at the moment is that the threat feels a lot more global so the tentacles feel more far reaching, how much of that is because compared to 20 years news travels much quicker and everything is filmed I do not know.

Something does need to happen but IMO the worse thing would be for 'non muslims' to start blaming 'all muslims' for what is going on, this would create an even bigger chasm and perfect recruiting material for the radical/extremes on the muslim side, in the same way the attacks in Paris will lead to more support for the radical/extremes on the 'non muslim' side.

I'm off out to stock pile non-halal meat as clearly it's going to be in short supply soon.

So Kent  thinks we can talk to the Jihadis and sort everything out over a nice cup of tea?

There is no reasoning with these people, they've tasted lots of kufar blood and are hungry for more - they won't stop till they reach their end goal ie - a totally Islamic world, even if they ever achieved that they would probably all kill one another.

I see the only solution in the immediate term, is to wipe the Jihadis out wherever possible by "bomb and bullet",then evict the evil clerics/hate preachers from these shores for good.

they've upped their game, no doubt about it

but this head in the sands angle that keeps getting touted is bollocks

you can spout your civil war lines and look to the future with fear if you want, but as said already, if you decide that civil war is inevitable and it will be muslims v non muslims, then I'd say you're the one living with your head in the sand and just waiting for the seemingly inevitable, but doing nothing about it

something needs to be done, but declaring it's inevitable and doing nothing about it, is not the solution

i've referred to this already, but watch adam curtis' power of nightmares, about the politics of fear, because it works on both sides

fear breeds fear, and the fear seems to be coming from the "civil war" side of the fence, so get your head out the sand and do something about it if it bothers you so much

I'm off out to stock pile non-halal meat as clearly it's going to be in short supply soon.

I'm stockpiling both. When judgement day comes I'll be pushing a cart through no-mans land flinging refreshments to both sides at a premium.

monotonous, aye, but it's a good debate none the less

as said already, just don't think folk have their head in the sand if they think something can be done about it or they don't necessarily fear the worse, because for me it's completely the opposite

for me the ones in fear are them who fear the worst and do nowt about it, clinging onto their security blankets (aka st george cross beach towels) ;-)

How do you know no-ones doing anything about it Zico?

You keep watching the movies ffs

because I've not heard about anyone doing about the impending civil war, other than UKIP trying to stop some of them coming in

what are you doing about it?

my head is out the sand and eyes are wide open so point me in the direction of someone doing something about it as I'd be genuinely interested to see what measures are being put in place

Oh well, if you've not heard anything we may aswell just keep watching movies until it all just goes away

That was a very good series, especially the bit where he explained why we were effectively pursuing an enemy that didn't exist.
