March 10, 201511 yr I cant see any demand for it. Like no one cares about the world club championships. They are light years off being on par with Europe I am sure FIFA would love to line their pockets with it though.
March 10, 201511 yr I cant see any demand for it. Like no one cares about the world club championships. They are light years off being on par with Europe The F.A. said something similar about the European Cup and the World Cup when they first started. The World Club Championship is huge over in South America, according to Tim Vickery.
March 10, 201511 yr I am sure if it was promoted, expanded and therefore more prize money and spotlight Europe's big clubs would be all over it like a rash.
March 10, 201511 yr I watched NY Red Bulls last season when I was there and really enjoyed it. Can drink in the stands, smoking areas, standing sections for hardcore supporters etc.
March 10, 201511 yr I've a mate who works for Boeing and has a season ticket at Seattle, (after years of having one at OT) and he loves it. Very different atmosphere to English games obviously but also different to most US sports.
March 10, 201511 yr There is nothing surer than a competition of some sorts that involves a tie up between the MLS and UEFA within a few years. Probably some sort of ridiculous "Champions" tournament each year where. It obviously would replace the CL, but they'll do something ridiculous. It's all about the money I wouldn't be overly surprised to see some PL and/or CL games played over there at some point either
March 10, 201511 yr I wouldn't be overly surprised to see some PL and/or CL games played over there at some point either The NFL and NBA play over here and the NFL in particular has benefited massively from it. I wonder if the NHL are thinking of playing at the MEN or O2 soon. That's the next sport that makes sense for a push over here.

Can drink in the stands, smoking areas, standing sections for hardcore supporters etc. Far too much enjoyment there my friend. Football matches should be watched in stone cold silence in sub zero tempratures whilst an angry lesbian stewardess growls at your every move.

March 10, 201511 yr The promotion leading up to the first game in Orlando has been very much instrumental in getting a 60,000 plus crowd. Not so sure about the next game. I moved to Orlando last summer from the frozen wasteland of Michigan. The Orlando City promotions dept used every kind of media to get across the 'fill the bowl' message. Pub crawls, fun runs, free transport, screenings in city centre all went to spread the word. I didnt go but chose to watch in a sports bar outside of the city where I had to ask for one of the thirty plus tvs be changed from NASCAR to 'soccer'. Which did attract a few more watchers. So the rest of the country is still catching up. But it is definately growing.

I fancy they get a shitty European league together before this. This league is 20 year old already
March 11, 201511 yr I do hope we are all going to look at New York City with disdain Sylvain Disdain?
March 15, 201511 yr Theyre the guys who ceremonially chain saw a tree trunk in half behind the nets after a goal goes in aren't they?
March 16, 201511 yr I watched 20 minutes last night, it is worse than non league standard. Truly awful. Woeful.
March 16, 201511 yr I watched 20 minutes last night, it is worse than non league standard. Truly awful. Woeful. Even David Villa? I quite enjoyed the game (NYC-NE) to be honest - lots of chances, tackles flying in, decent crowd..
March 16, 201511 yr Even David Villa? I quite enjoyed the game (NYC-NE) to be honest - lots of chances, tackles flying in, decent crowd.. Nice touches but hardly dominating the game, turned and saw the sending off and watched from there. Might have missed some better stuff. Nothing you mention relates to quality

Nothing you mention relates to quality True, was certainly an improvement on the non-league i've seen this season though! If Lampard had been playing last night he would have scored at least a hat-trick,
July 19, 201511 yr On way back from the Citrus Bowl (in a massively overpriced taxi which is costing double what Uber cost) watching Orlando City lose 2-0 to the New York Red Bulls. Adrian Heath got sent off for flouncing about. It was brilliant. Everyone, and I mean everyone (apart from us and the other Brits who stood out a mile) wore purple and the place was rocking. National Anthem to salute the armed forces before the game. Drinking in your seats, all sorts of food and stalls, tailgate parties before with music and loads of things going on. No doubt it's all helped massively by the weather. Stewards saying thanks for coming as you left, altogether a great evening. Football was utter shite. Anyway, if anyone gets the chance to go to a game take it. Can't wait for the WSU morgue.....
