I said exactly the same to a mate of mine last week. Where that'll take us as a club I don't know but we have to match income to expenditure.

He said it when he first started using it & at the time you could see his point, even though at the time we had a number of defenders also out on loan.   However, he also carried on playing abou

Danns, Vela

Feeney, Davies, Walker

Looking at that Keeper and Striker are #1 job for Lenny this summer.

No Clough in your first 11? I find that bizare

Granted he's only played ten games for us but the lads goal ratio is tremendous

I'd be very surprised if he isn't one of our top 2 or 3 main men next season

It was him or Mark Davies I went for Davies. I suppose it depends on where Lennon wants them to play, they both work best ahead of midfield but slightly different emphasis on their play.

If we do keep Eidur then that's 3 in to 1 position IMO, as much as i love Eidur if money is tight I'd not get him back unless we 'cash in' on Davies.

First objective for me is to make us harder to score against and beat. A dog in front of defence is a must and defence needs complete overhaul and injection of pace. Only one with that, Ream, is too soft for this league. Mills and Dervite are slow as boats and Wheater's never fit. Baptiste back in for definite and if NL wants to persist with 353, two wing backs who defend first and attack later. If we're more solid, one striker who gets 20 (ALF) would do us with a few around who chip 5 or 6 in. Ipswich have got in play offs with that

if we persist with 353 we will piss the league

if we persist with 353 we will piss the league

We miss a trick not going for 898.

I can't see us getting away with a 353 formation for long

We will need a plan B for when we get found out

Nothing wrong with 353 as long as 1 of the strikers is also a decent goalie with the pace of Roadrunner to get up & down the pitch.

A bit like wingbacks.

Scramble netters like at school?

As long as they shout 'I'm in' before touching the ball I can't see a problem tbh

last man back rule rumoured to be trialled in leagues 1 & 2 next season

Met NL in the hotel on Saturday after the game and he told me that the ones who will not be here next season have just been told in the changing rooms, he was angry as fuck and i won't repeat his actual words but he wasn't complimentary at all.

Zack Clough turned up and he put his arm around him and said "this is who our team will be built around next season, he's our star"

The problem is that if those ones he doesn't want around are under contract, we need someone to take them. And if they don't they'll still be here, and presumably unhappy with their lot. The initial team spirit and togetherness Lennon bought when he came in has been lost again in my view. One of the worries for me is that Neil Lennon is taking the same line that Freedman used, "the players aren't good enough" and seemingly in a more angry way. I don't think that will help pull together a rag tag group that we will need to work with next season. I do agree with him that we need massive improvement but we also need to make the best of a difficult situation and I don't think being angry and publically slating players is the way to do that.

Everyone is entitled to there opinion but i find it refreshing and listening to his rant gave me the feel good factor and that he cares just like the rest of us

I agree. We all moan about modern football so it's refreshing to have someone with his heart on his sleeve. I just hope he stays like that though as I have a fear he could end up falling out with folk willy nilly.

interesting bit where it says:

We have been playing a back three because we haven’t had a bona fide right-back for the majority of the season. It is unfair to keep asking Josh Vela to play in that position. He is a far better midfield player.

1) so if we can get a RB in, we won't play 3-5-2?

2) could've played McNaughton there, unless he really doesn't rate him

3) Baptiste better at CB than RB

I really hope we dont waste any of our budget on resigning heskey.

I thought Heskey had already been offered a new deal?
