Adlington Trotter
This is the problem....you would all be moaning when Ross gets injured or is absolutely fucked by xmas. Quick term fix that. This is Ross' first summer off in 3 years. Last season showed that he needs a break away from the pressure. I don't agree with all this talk of the tournament tiring them out. It would have been done and dusted before July even began, and that's if England had made the final. That would give them about six weeks to "recover" before the season starts. I kind of see the point leaving Wilshere out as he is probably still recovering from a long injury. Best to leave him in the hands of the physios that know him best at Arsenal with the aim of him going to the Euros next year. But to claim these delicate little flowers will be tired by Christmas if they've played in a tournement in June? Not having it. It's the line managers and players roll out to excuse the fact they're just playing a bit shit mid season.
Pablo
Well, last season you could see Ross needed a break. He should not have gone to the World Cup. Now if he had not gone, then yes he should be in the U21's now. But he did go, and was part of that toxic experience. Every player should be judged individually, and by their own circumstances. Stirling is a England regular, as is Wilshire. Shaw maybe, but he has had injury problems.

So when we go to France next year the bulk of them will have been away and played together and had time to gel. Instead,as usual, they will all be 'injured' and rested for any international friendlies during the season and then get chucked in blind at the euros. Pablo
That's fair enough, but just throwing in 3 "senior" players into the U21's will do nothing for the development of the ones they are replacing. The handful of players you and me are talking about are gone now, in terms of the U21's. I agree that we should be getting them together for tournament experience, but lets do that with the current crop, not just shoe-horn in better players for a cheap U21 tournament win. Its not great that we have gone out in the group stage, but this is the level we are at. Not enough English players are getting game time in the prem, and if you look at the over-priced foreigners (Payet for example ), then its not going to change for these lads, or our National team. Didledee
England created a lot vs Italy, but defending was poor, Ings scores that 1on1 early on and who knows, but they were very average also vs Sweden and Portugal. Denmark u21 and SwedenU21 ain't anything special and they're through, Portugal are and beat Enlgand, but early in year England beat them 3-1. Germany are decent, but they ain't perfect, drew 2 games and won 1 in group. Not many in that u21 who are going to break into this England team, maybe only when players get old and retired, Kane will defo be at Euro2016, he looked our best player imo, was impressed at times with Lingard. Mounts Kipper
Is the 'real' international standard, Mounts ? Or England international standard ? Trillion from English and a zillion from real.

SalfordOriginal
As England beat Sweden in the group stage can we go back to saying we have a good crop of youngsters coming through and the next tournament will be ours?
