Tomskis right I'm afraid he's a United fan.. Paul Lester, lived in America for nearly 30 years now. Actually thinking about it I think it's 25 years.

  • That's right. We missed with the pie at Emley.

That'll boost Madines confidence. Well done Lenny

It's early days. ILWT. I'm confident of finishing at least half way

If he's not playing well why should he keep playing Madine?

We were winning when Heskey went off. So that choice has nowt to do with the result.

Besides everything else luck plays a Hugh part in it and we have none

Lets face it, we are not even competing with most of league one sides wages wise, the Madine signing made this clear, you simply had to lookout his scoring record to see he hardly cut it even at league 1 level.

Given the evidence of player quality and games thus  far,  it will be a job well done to stay in this division. This smells and tastes like the early 80's.

Thank fook I've knocked this going away lark on the head. Doesn't make getting beat any easier though.

It's not the early 80's. History doesn't have to repeat itself.

The decision to drop madine wasn't pathetic l

The decision to bring on madine was pathetic!

Whoa! You get called a ball bag on here for comparing us to the 80's. Spot on though we are third division standard and an appallingly run club.Lennon has both hands tied, the signing of Madine in the summer shows that as does ALF slipping away. Apparently we have a little money now- don't believe it.

Lennon knows football?

If he did he wouldnt have taken this job on

Trying to flnd positives........we scored a cracking goal......we played quite well for 44 minutes & might have scored more....Moxey, Danns & especially M Davies played well

but....Prince was hopeless, Derik nearly as bad & got himself sent off, Wilson got worse as the game went on,  Amos did nothing to help the defence. Dobbie & Welly contributed nothing, Feeney scored but contributed nothing else , Madine missed another sitter & contributed nothing, & Walker came on & looked like a kid amongst adults. The 2nd half was worse than the second half of last season & Lennon couldn't turn it round then........

I fear the worst & at the moment (drunken ), I'd be relieved to finish the season 4 from bottom.

Has Chris Hughton got spearing medo wheater eating wages? Yesterday was a poor poor result lennys budget is just fine it's the fact he has to spend on some high earning stiffs that's a massive problem and how does he legislate for Wilson being nigh on MOM one week to Sunday league the next anyway give him a great excuse to play Pisano now everyone's been slavering to see - Wilson or Hooper will be a white by this time next week I reckon

Wilson not going on loan, anywhere. Can,t afford Hooper.

Don't understand everyone having a go at Lennon. He's got no money to spend, he's working hard to make the best of the situation. Last season we'd won 1 drawn 2 and lost 8 before he took over. He kept us up. Given our funding situation, his remit this year is to keep us up again.

We've got big earners on our books who aren't earning that money (Spearing, Medo, Wheater etc). We've got continuing dreadful luck with injuries. The last thing Lennon and the club need is the fans turning against him and souring things even more. That's a sure way to hasten a downward spiral.

Brighton at home next week. I've no idea who the hell we're going to play in central defence but get behind the team and let's at least try to keep our unbeaten home league record in tact.

Good post???? once the high earners have left and if we stay loyal and support the club by buying home tickets and as fans we stick together we can then go forward again. Getting rid of Neil Lennon is not the answer he's the right man for the job.

Hopefully Lennon  complaining that the strikers aren't good enough will cause the owner to find some money.Lennon's been here almost a year now and the results are disappointing but even so I have some sympathy with him taking on a job where the board don't appear to be desperate for a successful football team, or even having one with a Division 2 standard striker. I believe Dougie stated he'd never been at a football club where off field activities rather than the football team were such a  priority.

He is complaining that the strikers HE bought are not good enough though .

You've a point there. It's disappointing that Lennon doesn't have a better scouting network that could find a quality  striker for free
Rioch signed Mcginlay and Allardyce signed Ricketts for very low fees but Lennon hasn't been able to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

Still, my sympathy is with Lennon.I don't think he has been given enough money to do the job adequately.

Rickets and Mcginley were signed in a totally different era. It,s so different now with everyone chasing top dollar.

Can someone just tell me, in a convenient list, who I need to blame please?

I didn't go yesterday and need to vent my righteous indignation towards the appropriate people.

I'm fucking furious, but don't want to waste all this energy.

The finger of blame should not be pointed at Lennon, the blame lies with E.D. and Gartside for completely mismanaging the finances and chooisng piss poor managers while we were in the premier league.

If there's one good thing to come out of the first few weeks of the season it is that there are clearly enough teams who are poor enough for us to finish above. Rotherham, PNE, MK Dons, Bristol City .... perhaps Charlton. It isn't setting the bar very high, but if we're in the same division this time next year I'd be happy. I'd be even happier if we have new investment and we're then able to start being ambitious in this league again.

Ironically the majority of fans still want is to spend beyond our means right now, just as they have for years.
