I always thought Jeremy Corbyn got more negative press than he deserved in reality. Can you imagine if he'd got in when you look at the vitriol being directed towards a relatively inoffensive Keir Starmer? 😬

I lost a huge amount of respect for him during the Brexit debates though. I blame Corbyn as much as anybody else for the fact that we're out.

The only point where I got the faintest flicker of approval for him. Different strokes and all that.

It's a weird one this. 

Not uncommon for nations to have these parades of military might.

They do seem over the top, and a bit "plastic".

On the other hand, we have various displays like changing of the guard. A much more dignified, professional and historic ceremony.

There must be a grey area between them though.

And as for air displays: military aircraft steal the show every time, and that's what brings the crowds in.

There always will be a fascination amongst the public for it all.

I’d say this is right in Trumps wheelhouse.

A meaningless but ultimately harmless splurge of taxpayer money.

at least whilst he’s busy wanking over tanks the grown ups can get on with some work

Wonder what the other 6 G7 leaders will be thinking today as they sit down with Trumpy? Will they be in awe of his intellect? Will they be astounded by his insights into the various geopolitical crises around the world? Will they admire his proposed strategies to defuse the Ukraine, Gaza and Iran wars (& Sudan of course)?

I was massively underwhelmed from the bit I saw. I thought it was going to be a real show of force - but it looked more like a county fair from the bit I saw. Various regiments shuffling past in a not very coordinated way. 

That said - it was coverage from the BBC - so no doubt the news editors (who as we know all have a secret left wing agenda) picked the footage to make it look a bit shit.

I don’t think the army lads were marching so shit on purpose, I reckon they were telling trumpton to fuck off
