It resonates with the man on the street because they want someone to blame for everything so "elites" is a great word. Quote

Nothing is a certainty. However, the American public have at least thankfully rejected unfettered Trump and put a nice check and balance in there. Good on them. A small chink of light appears in the world. Quote
bolty58 Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Haha...in your dreams. The yanks will be so pleased with their wealth situation they won't want to take the chance with Michelle (who I like BTW) or Oprah (who I don't),. Four more years. Quote
kent_white Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Score draw for me. I expect privately Trump is happier with the results than the Democrats. They could have sent out a strong message and it's only been half sent. Almost like a damp squib local council election in a UK Government's mid term. Quote

Realistically not sure there was ever any more on the table for the democrats than what they took. Some key swing states look troublesome for Trump now. Certainly not the runaway success as a president in terms of convincing an electorate of progress that he hoped for. It was a win for the democrats but as you say not as convincing as to send shockwaves. But losing the house is a big blow to Trump, whatever way you cut it. Quote
gonzo Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Who is going to be the main person to stand against trump then? When does the Russian smear/fake news/hacking campaign start on them? Quote

The House can now officially request his tax returns from the IRS. He's spent 2 years abusing and slandering the very people who have just been handed the powers to investigate him. Quote

The house can now at least order thorough investigations into his conduct and that could be very embarrassing for him. But they won't be able to impeach him. Quote

Bad enough here, but the gerrymandering in the states is something else. Quote
