2 more years and he will be toast thank god

I'm not sure he'll be gone, I can see him getting another term, as the economy is doing well (in fact, as reported yesterday, they've just had their 93rd consecutive month of reduction in unemployment......and yes, that does include when Obama was President) - as long as things are going well, they'll vote him in again.

I certainly hope so for his "fan boys" on here who would clearly be devastated if he was to get ousted......although I suspect just as many would be equally gutted if he did get another term.

The election likely comes down to the rustbelt again. And in those areas the Republicans haven't done well in the mid-terms and general view is that Trump has lost popularity in those states that aren't staunch republican places and very much work on promise and action which they perceive hasn't happened.

Anyhow too early to determine - I'd concur that by no means is the outcome certain either way. Presidential elections in USA are decided by personality. Whether someone on the democrat side can come in and be strong enough to take on Trump and convince those voters in swing states to go for them is the question. Those voters usually want a strong personality and a strong and direct set of promises. Trump is on the backfoot, but the challenger needs to be good.

Maybe so but with his ego dented and his political wings clipped we might get a more respectful and moderate President in his last 2 years (hopefully)

We’ll see

As impeachment requires a two-thirds majority in the Senate it is not going to succeed.

But forcing him to publish his tax returns may actually cost him votes in the future.

And more investigations into his Russian links could be embarrassing!

If Mueller does uncover some real incriminating shit, Republicans in the senate won’t continue to blindly back him.

They should definitely go after his tax return though.

And all his dodgy deals (Russian) might come out in the wash too

I don't think he's going to change the way he operates, he's a sociopath, always has been, always will be.

What he does do though is get people talking, which is a good thing......I think

Did Obama and Bush not lose both houses?

He’s proper menkul

Brilliant :)

Is it just me because these twitter posts don't show up right on my phone?

More disgusting behaviour from the ‘president’ there. Clearly very, very rattled.

Can only hope this evil ends soon.

You mean when you post your own Twitter links?

My problem was sorted doing the following. After you paste the link, you see a message that says the text is pasted as rich text and an option to paste as plain text instead. Choose the latter and the link embeds by magic.

Yes evil. He prays on the weak and vulnerable for his own gain. He bullies and coerces. He slanders and lies. And he builds a platform deliberately based on hate and division.

Those who think hatred, division and bullying can be justified are also evil.

So much idiocy in one post.

Congratulations.

I would love our current PM to come out with " Fuck off you set of cunt's, I'me trying to do my best, if you can do any better, well fucking stand up here " to folk quizzing her about the state of the country, instead of just coming out with soundbites.:)

Score draw for me. I expect privately Trump is happier with the results than the Democrats. They could have sent out a strong message and it's only been half sent. Almost like a damp squib local council election in a UK Government's mid term.

He now has the perfect foil. All of the shit and fuck ups which happen between now and the next election will be laid at the feet of the so called 'Democrats' in The House.

Even the fake news pundits who have provided succour to the liberal elite and the moronic masses (those who would accept the views of George Clooney and Ashley Judd without a moments thought) are now openly discussing the 'likelihood' that he would win a second term of office.

Just delicious. It will be time to unleash a former WWays favourite if it comes to pass - Schadenfreude.

Not a 'fan boy' as such. More a despiser of the visceral "anti's" who were spitting bile before he'd even stepped into the White House.

Glad it’s not just me that sees this

Actually, Bolty points out a truism here. I'm not sure there are that many 'fans' of Trump. Sure, there are some angry, old men who will always be angry old men. Those folks don't get people voted into positions of power normally. I don't even call this populism, and for this the moderates have to take a lion's share of the blame.

When you choose to ignore, belittle or just even refuse to acknowledge anyone's views and then couple this with the worse economic crisis in living memory you throw people into the arms of these self serving demagogues, which actually don't really belong to any political affiliation (which is why supporters can bat off the far right accusations willingly)

Trump, Robinson, Farage, Johnson - not one of them really aligns on the political spectrum but  they are all grouped in a similar movement. The one thing that does bind them together is that they are all arch opportunists who will exploit any vacuum that is there, from genuine concerns about immigration, regional job creation, affordability of houses, financial security and turn this to appeal to the easiest to understand common denominators, let the moderates and the left howl in disbelief and watch their numbers raise.

As I've said before the reaction of many of my work colleagues in London to the Brexit vote massively annoyed me, not because I disagreed with them wanting to remain, but their disbelief it could happen showed how much they existed in a cosseted reality that many are not lucky enough to have. That isn't to say that the way to solve this was throwing ourselves on a political sword, but its understandable why people voted to leave, voted to 'make America great again' or find sympathy with Robinson despite the rhetoric.

Its frustrating, especially with many of the more ardent supporters of whatever this movement create their own little feedback loop and anything that doesn't fit is FAKE or LIES. At its worse it corrupts actual debate and forces discussions into circular arguments where there can only be WINNERS or LOSERS. Then push this into social media (which has to now take its responsibilities seriously) and you're left with what we have. I'm not sure there are old notions of left and right anymore, but collectively we have force ourselves as a nation to come to understanding or else we won't succeed or progress, and that's something none of us want.

I agree with all of what you've written there Crawley. And it was eloquently put.

Politically we seem to have descended to the point where politics is less about wanting to build a future that's fair an sustainable - to a situation where a lot of people just vote to annoy people they dislike. Bolty alluded to it earlier - something along the lines of he doesn't even necessarily like or agree with Trump - he just likes seeing people he dislikes being annoyed.

To quote python 'that's no basis for a system of government' - the polarisation left unchecked might be the end of Western liberal democracy.

I know this is a forum - but just look at the way people talk to each other on here. It's insane really. And I've been guilty of it myself on here too.

There's something about the human psyche that seems to value the little dopamine release from feeling like you've won a petty squabble over and above the future direction on humanity.

Anyway - that's my take on it you set of utter cunts! :)
