Iran Offers $80 Million Bounty on Donald Trump for Killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani: Report
During the televised funeral procession of the top Iranian, official state broadcasters said on Sunday that $1 would be tabled for every Iranian in the country (amounting to $80 million), with the cash going to whoever killed the US President.

Get a grip man, before I also show you the parliamentary question asked by a MP re health tourism, resulting in us being out of pocket by £674million.....imagine what that could be spent on in hospitals eh ?

I was banned for life off Twitter and I don't know why, I have asked but they will not tell me, so, how can someone send international threats and not be banned, discrimination in my opinion

New thread required before this gets swallowed up under another few hundred pages of Trump's a Cunt/Trump is God.

Kinell, employ a few folk to invoice and get that money back, on a bit of a bonus scheme and they'd all be quids in.

He could afford to pay them more for not doing! :)

It's actually a touch smaller than the £674million, as our chaps cost 49million around the EU. Will put it on the appropriate thread now, much to Kent Red's dismay 😉

Can I just say I've met loads of Iranians and they've all been absolutely lovely people

I reckon the average Iranian isn't too thrilled either about this escalation

my barber is sound to :D

Just out of interest, why did Trump have Mike Brearley murdered?

Some kind of reprisal for the Ashes in 81?

Is that the one which details the so-called "knock-for-knock" expenditure by NHS compared with the equivalent expenditure on British citizens in Europe?

It had happened before - but the treaty that DT ripped up was doing a decent job of stopping it. And even afterwards thanks largely to the UK, France and Germany. Looks like that's fucked now though. So between that and pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement he's going great guns.

Nice attempt at deflection by the way! :)

I deflected for your sake man 😂😂😂

Iran and North Korea had never had nuclear aims until Trump was voted in 😉

They did - and one of them is still in exactly the same situation as before (despite his best efforts) - and the other one has rejoined the race (because of his foreign policy).

So like I said - we've now got two rogue states trying to develop nuclear weapons instead of one.

My last quote was sarcastic,  you great big clot 😂

Go to the other thread and enjoy being torn a new one again 😉😘

Genuine question; was the agreement actually doing what it was supposed to?

Might be wrong, but iirc concerns were made that Iranians were doing things they shouldn't anyway.

Was it a fudge, and a case of I see no ships?

Don't know, and to be honest, the unilateral withdrawal by the USA was unhelpful- perhaps they could have tried to build a concencus with whatever evidence they had.

All that said, just can't keep turning the other cheek or a blind eye to terrorists.

I think concerns had been raised, and rightly so. We were in a position to raise them at the time.

The idea was to slowly work on bringing Iran back into the international fold instead of isolating them. It was never going to happen over night - but personally I think it was the right approach.

I imagine it will be really hard to do again at any point in the next couple of decades now the trumpinator has reneged on a deal and blown their second in command up. I imagine trust is pretty thin on the ground. Such a shame as we had an opportunity.

And even worse - if war was ever necessary, the West and it's allies would have known that we did everything we possibly could to find a diplomatic solution and we've been left with no other option. Now Iran can paint themselves as the victim.

May well be right with all that.

I will pose an alternative theory though: having signed up, Iran was then desperate to maintain its push for influence in the region. Up the ante in Yemen, attack Saudi, attack allied troops and look to provoke a response so that they can indeed play the victim and start their programme again.

A fanatically religious dictatorship with dubious moral attitudes- not an organisation you can easily deal with as they essentially hate you and want to decimate your freedoms and way of life.

Clearly not applicable to all of them, but the reasonable people are suppressed and executed by their own regime; sooner or later something has to give.

So if that's the case - we should have found the evidence, built a case and then got agreement from the allied powers concerned about what action to take. Withdraw en-masse from the treaty, reimpose sanctions, or if really necessary take the military option (with a heavy heart).

Unilaterally fucking off all your allies a la Trump is really poor.

And don't forget - Trump will be gone in at the latest 5 years. America will then have to try and salvage it's reputation internationally - and that could take a long, long time.

I think the evidence is there; however I agree wholeheartedly that the means by which the US has gone about all this is unhelpful. We all know what Trump is like and no doubt once gone some bridges will need repairing, mostly with allies.

If you get chance have a listen to Jeremy Hunt's interview this morning. I was quite surprised by his candour, the advantage of being on the backbenches no doubt, but very informative nonetheless.

Do get the impression of some tension between us/Europe and the US over these sorts of matters. Almost as if biding their time until Trump isn't around.

You got a link for the interview mate?

It was on BBC breakfast. Whether anyone has captured it yet and put it up I'm not sure.

Depends whether anyone sees it as that important as he's not in the cabinet.

Seems a lot of folk are getting IS and Iran mixed up, I’m sure that those two hate / fight / are at war with each other

I appreciate that forces from Iraq (supported by Iran) attacked the US embassy, however I was of the impression that this was in retaliation for US air strikes on them a couple of days earlier. Not sure what the US strategy was but surely you attack some people in Iraq then you expect them to fight back

Fuck knows where it all ends, I’m not sure what the Trump administration are hoping to achieve. On one hand they throw key allies like the Kurds under the bus, then they escalate conflicts with parties supported by Iran / Iran themselves.

We’ve had a proper Rick with IS, they were supported by Suadi and Qatar, why no tough talk to those two? IS were an abomination and ‘the West’ were quite right to help Iraq / Syria / Kurdistan fight them, beyond that I’m not sure what’s left to achieve with military intervention in the ME

And the us airstrike a couple of days earlier was in response to attacks carried out by Iranian supported groups. Tit for tat.

Where it's all going, fuck knows.

and here's the rub

The middle east is too complicated for any western leader to simply draw a line in the sand and ask them to take sides.

It's certainly too complex for Trump and yet he sees himself as a saviour for the righteous. They've got right bastards on all sides.

If he wants to protect Americans, bring them back to Delaware, Michigan, Texas etc.. and get them to build that fucking wall.
