It'll be interesting to see what happens with these tariffs that are now in effect, especially as Canada and China have hit back with tariffs of their own......I'm not sure that Trump was expecting that, particularly from Canada. Short term, I guess that means prices in the US will go up, which is not what he promised.

I'd say it's predictably high. 

I've just watched the full presser. It's amazing to watch whatever side of the fence you sit on. 

He literally said that he believes the reason these tariffs have been imposed is because Trump wants to harm the Canadian economy to the extent that Trump can try to make it the 51st state. 

Incredible to hear him actually spell it out like that.

Just seen a headline that Trump is considering relinquishing leadership of NATO.

Not sure what that means exactly, as it has a top mon in already.

If he means as the biggest player, then so be it.

China will be watching, and may be emboldened by his behaviour towards Ukraine. If they have a go at Taiwan, then Trump may appreciate some help, so he needs to be careful and not burn his bridges.

There is the consideration of course, that his desire for a minerals deal, and tariffs aimed at making everything in America, could mean leaving Taiwan on its own as they're no longer needed.
